Chapter 77 - The man by the maple tree

Eun-woo finished straightening the sheet and blanket. Then he slipped under them with a brusque movement. He hoped that sleep would wash away his anger, though he knew it wouldn't be that simple.

Even so, his body still felt heavy from the previous day's training with Caelan and from all the tension he had been carrying since the morning. With the warmth of the blankets and the silence of the room, exhaustion dragged him down and, little by little, he fell asleep.

When he opened his eyes again, it was already dark. He couldn't hear voices or footsteps outside, nor did he see any light seeping in under the door. That could only mean he was completely alone.

The emptiness in his chest became sharper, and with a whisper tinged with resentment, he muttered:

"Liar."

Rhys hadn't come back like he promised.

Eun-woo was about to close his eyes again when a sound forced him upright. The window creaked open and Nebu slipped into the room.
