Pei Shu'er felt that strange sensation grow even stronger, and she suddenly stopped in her tracks, unwilling to go any further.
"Imperial Concubine, if you have something to say, just say it."
Consort Shu smiled as she looked at Pei Shu'er. There was a hint of sympathy in her gaze, along with a sense of satisfaction.
"Very well, you indeed shouldn't go out; it could complicate matters. However, you might regret not taking a walk today."
Consort Shu turned around, her voice taking on an authoritative tone.
"Come with me back to the palace."
Pei Shu'er stopped in her tracks, and Consort Shu, smiling, turned to Pei Shu'er, but there was a chill in her eyes, her manner commanding.
"Pei Shu'er, are you defying an imperial edict?"
Defying it wasn't the issue. Pei Shu'er just wanted to see what scheme was in the gourd that Consort Shu was selling, and why it was so roundabout.
Moreover, tearing things apart with Consort Shu wasn't a good choice at the moment.
