Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Knives in the Heart

Daisy Stone suddenly became Henry Foster's fiancée.

Henry Foster is Samuel Grant's older brother, and he took their mother's surname, Foster. The Foster family is the wealthiest in Ocean Market, obviously not something the Grant Family can compare to. Initially, Samuel Grant's father was just a son-in-law, so the two brothers grew up in the Foster family from a young age.

But now Samuel Grant is in a vegetative state, and the truth is beyond verification...

But now, she's not going to be deceived again.

She wants to see with her own eyes what exactly Samuel Grant and Daisy Stone are up to.

Clara Bennett deliberately pinched her throat, pretending to have just cried, and pressed the answer button.

"Hey, Daisy."

Daisy Stone's voice was full of concern: "Clara, what happened between you and Samuel Grant? I called him today, and he told me that you two have broken up. Samuel Grant was vague and didn't make things clear, so I had to ask you directly. What's going on between you two? Weren't you always doing well?"

Clara Bennett's voice carried sadness: "Daisy, don't ask, anyway, Samuel Grant and I are completely over."

Daisy Stone comforted: "It's common for couples to argue, you can't explain such things over the phone. Let's come out and chat, what do you think?"

A trace of coldness flashed in Clara Bennett's eyes, but she still appeared weak and replied, "Okay, let's talk about it in person."

She can't let Daisy Stone and Samuel Grant completely take the upper hand.

She pretended not to have eaten and set dinner time in a restaurant she chose.

Now Clara needs 'comfort' and naturally, Daisy Stone would agree.

When Clara called her brother to say she was going out, James Bennett disagreed.

James Bennett: "In your current state, I don't feel safe letting you go out."

Clara had to go out but didn't want to worry her family, so she thought for a moment and said, "Brother, give me a bodyguard. I'll take him with me. I'm just going to meet a girlfriend, not anyone else, it should be fine."

James Bennett: "Alright."

Only then could Clara Bennett go to the restaurant to meet Daisy Stone.

Clara Bennett went out of her way to make herself look haggard, like someone who had just been through a breakup.

Daisy Stone expressed a look of distress: "What got into Samuel Grant? He must have done something wrong to you outside, you have to tell me."

Clara Bennett gave a bitter smile: "No, he did nothing wrong, Daisy, let's eat first. I haven't eaten all day, and I feel awful."

Daisy Stone: "Alright then, say whatever you want to eat, it's on me. Tonight we should relax and not bother about these lousy men. After dinner, I'll take you to a bar to have fun. You're so beautiful, no way you can't find a good man?"

Clara put on a meek face, bit her lip, and shook her head: "I really have never been to a nightclub, I don't dare to go. Why don't we eat first?"

Taking the menu, Clara squinted and quickly ordered a few dishes.

When Daisy Stone heard the dishes she ordered, the corner of her mouth twitched—all of these were foods that pregnant women should avoid.

Once the dishes were served, Clara diligently opened a crab for Daisy and smiled at her, saying, "Daisy, have some crab, I remember you used to love this."

Daisy Stone looked a bit embarrassed and hurriedly explained: "Clara, lately, I've been drinking some traditional medicine for body regulation, can't have seafood."

"I see, if Daisy can't eat seafood, let's switch to something else. This bowl of coix seed porridge tastes pretty good, why don't you give it a try?"

Hearing this, Daisy Stone's leg involuntarily jiggled, she secretly wondered if Clara Bennett already knew some of her secrets.

"Coix seed porridge" could actually harm the child she's carrying!

But looking at this innocent face before her, Clara sincerely asked: "Daisy, why are you eating so much traditional medicine? Are you feeling unwell? Remember to have a good rest."

Forcing a smile, Daisy Stone took the porridge and said, "Thank you, lately my digestion hasn't been good; eating a lot at night tends to make me uncomfortable. So I'll just have some porridge."

"Then eat more hawthorn, it's said to aid digestion."

Clara called the waiter to add a serving of candied hawthorn.

At this point, Daisy Stone's face looked even worse.

Hawthorn is also a big taboo during pregnancy!

Could it be that she's destined to be a natural nemesis?

Despite many doubts in her mind, Clara Bennett had no real intention to harm this child.

Her actions earlier seemed more like unintentionally instilling a bit of fear in the other person.

Facing someone who once made her suffer so much, seeing her in such a downfall somehow gave Clara a little satisfaction.

After the meal, Clara was almost taken without hesitation to a nightclub.

The two sat in a spot, with Clara looking a bit nervous, while Daisy Stone softly comforted her: "Relax, let's not talk about Samuel Grant and them today, have a drink and unwind."

Clara answered, "But I'm not good at drinking…"

"It's alright, I'm here. A few years ago, I often drank heavily to forget some bothersome things, so I'm quite good at it. I'll watch over you, don't worry."

As Daisy Stone spoke, she internally cursed: Samuel Grant, that bastard, making me handle this while pregnant!

So she ordered a Long Island iced tea for Clara.

Just as Clara was about to start enjoying her drink, a stranger suddenly approached to chat, which spooked her, and she quickly made an excuse to run to the restroom to escape.

Taking this opportunity, Daisy Stone, who had intended to secretly tamper with Clara's drink, had no choice but to give up and let her leave.

Meanwhile, not far away in the darkness, a man quietly made a phone call.

The call connected, and with silence from the receiver, Daniel Wright reported: "Boss Foster, the subordinate noticed that the Young Madam appeared at a nightclub with another woman. At the moment, the Young Madam is heading to the restroom, while the other woman seems to have tampered with her drink."

William Foster calmly responded: "Keep an eye on the Young Madam. If anything unexpected happens, take immediate action. If everything is normal, don't show yourself to avoid alerting her."

Daniel Wright: "Understood, Boss Foster."

Just before hanging up, he added, "Keep a close watch on her every move. If she meets with other males behind the Foster family's back, inform me immediately."

Daniel Wright: "…Yes."

Boss Foster, you're making me feel like I'm conducting some private investigation for you.

Being one of the elite Hidden Guards of the Foster family, Daniel Wright, who was somewhat famous outside, felt like he was doing something sneaky at the moment.

Clara Bennett said she was going to the restroom, but she actually didn't go. She secretly noted Daisy Stone's actions.

Alright, using drugs as a tactic always seems to work, so this time let's see this wicked person hit a wall.

She watched Daisy Stone coldly.

Daisy Stone is not simple; she hides a knife in her heart, while pretending to be friendly to me—it's truly brilliant.

The memories from my past life remain vivid, and I didn't expect that she'd still want to harm me in this life. Even though she's pregnant, I can't feel any sympathy for her.
