"I think she likes you." Queen Selthía says as I stare at Torsha who has curled around my shoulder to rest, while glowing softly.
"She's a serpent of innocence. Our history says her kind was formed when Nagari's first child goddess wept. Torsha's kind only respond to magic designed to stimulate their mana… or to innocent souls… hearts which hold more light than hate, anger, or malice." She says, and I blink.
"She's a snake Lúmira?" I question, and just then, the air around Queen Selthía's shoulders shifts.
Lúmira appears, curled around her like a shawl. The snake tilts its head at me as if curious that I called her name.
She hisses gently, and Torsha who's resting over my shoulders raises her head.
Queen Selthía and I stop walking as Lúmira reaches for me.
I hold out a hand, and the gentle beauty that looks like a peaceful river that took a serpent's form, curls around my arm till she's face to face with Torsha.
