When Ye Zhenfen saw that patch of red blood, she cried out in surprise, her body swayed, and if Ye Ling hadn't reacted quickly to grab her, she would have fallen to the ground. Ye Ling's hands were stained with blood, and grabbing her like that left a handprint of blood on her mother-in-law's clothes.
"Mom, it's okay, it's almost eight months now, at worst it will be a premature birth, don't worry." Ye Ling endured the bouts of pain coming from her belly and still tried to comfort her mother-in-law, "You're getting on in years, if something happens to you, I'd be even more worried."
Ye Zhenfen steadied herself, "Lingzi, don't worry, it's nothing. The elders say if the water breaks first the birth is slow, if there's blood first the birth is fast, don't worry, we'll head to the hospital right away."
Contractions came from her belly in waves, Ye Ling forced a smile and nodded when she saw her mother-in-law had calmed down, so she no longer worried and focused her mind on her belly.
