There was a three-second silence on the other end of the phone. Nora Scott squinted slightly, her voice chilly as she threatened, "If you dare hang up, you're dead."
"Such precision."
A low chuckle followed the voice.
Rubbing her ear, Nora removed the Bluetooth earpiece and switched sides, asking, "What's the situation?"
"You've sold everything to save Biel Hall. The old master is so moved by your deep affection that he can only appoint you as the heir."

Raising an eyebrow, Nora was a bit stunned, pressing her fingers against her forehead. After a while, she said speechlessly, "I helped him out of goodwill, and he still tricked me?"
