Teacher Cleveland threw the desk phone back down as if he had been burned, and his whole reaction was exaggerated.

"What happened?"

The female teacher at the next desk looked up, puzzled by his flustered actions.

"I called the wrong number." Teacher Cleveland patted his chest, cradling his startled heart, explaining, "I called Marcus Shaw's parent twice in a row, scared the life out of me."
