"I was expelled from my master's school."
When she mentioned this, Evelyn Winter said it with a bit of a sigh, adding some sorrow to the corners of her eyes and brows.
Nora Scott was taken aback, "Expelled from the master's school?"
Even before Evelyn came, Nora had contacted Dean Carter to inquire about her situation.
Dean Carter confirmed that Evelyn was indeed Antonio Easton's disciple, but for some unknown reason, she left without completing her apprenticeship.
Nora did not further pursue the reasons and assumed that Evelyn's departure might be similar to what Dean Carter had told her.

As the teacup was placed down, Evelyn picked up the wooden box, weighing it in her hands.
"Not to lie to you," Evelyn said, "twenty or thirty years ago, stealing this thing was a piece of cake for me. But now technology has advanced, and there are surveillance cameras everywhere. I had to put in a lot of effort."
