July, the sun was blazing, the weather was hot, and the sound of cicadas outside the teaching building was incessant.

The fan was running in the classroom, but the wind it stirred up was hot.

Nora Scott leaned against the wall, one arm resting on the desk, while the other hand fished out a pen from the desk hole, twirling it ceaselessly in her hand.

The parent-teacher meeting hadn't started yet. There were students and parents in the classroom, a bit chaotic, but as they neared Nora, their voices unconsciously lowered. —This was the most basic respect for a beauty.

Marcus Shaw walked in from the back door and placed two bottles of mineral water on the table, with fine beads of water clinging to the bottles.
