Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Really Deserves a Lesson

Lyu Xiangran saw she had to wear dirty clothes and started crying and fussing, "No, dirty clothes, they stink."

Lyu Juncheng had to coax her, "They don't stink. After we eat, Dad will have Aunt give you a bath. By tomorrow morning, the sleeves will be dried by the stove, and we can change you into them."

He cajoled her for a long while but still couldn't calm her down. It was only when Yao Hui called him to the kitchen to get the biscuits they had bought earlier that he finally managed to calm her down enough to change.

Lyu Xiangliang, on the other hand, wasn't like his sister. As long as he had clothes to wear, it didn't matter if they were clean or dirty.

Once Lyu Juncheng had dealt with the two little dears, he took the two sets of clothes they had changed out of to the kitchen, "Yao Hui, could you dry these clothes out for them?"

Yao Hui was just putting the chopped sweet potatoes into the pot, "Leave them there."

After she covered the pot, she noticed the clothes Lyu Xiangliang and Lyu Xiangran were wearing and frowned, "My goodness, these clothes are so filthy."

Thinking of something, she looked at Lyu Juncheng, who was crouching beside her, "Brother-in-law, after dinner, I'll boil some water for you to give Xiangliang and Xiangran a bath, and I'll help wash these jackets."

This was her chance to show how capable she was.

A few days ago, her own mother broke her leg and couldn't help take care of the nephews anymore. Her brother-in-law probably couldn't handle it anymore, which is why the family brought in that country woman, Yu Xinyan.

It wasn't that she didn't want to come help, but her mother kept a close eye on her, besides, someone still had to do the work at home. Now that her mom could move around with crutches, she finally had some free time.

But the thought of her mom not finding her and possibly blowing up at home made her scalp tingle.

She just couldn't understand why her mom was so against her marrying her brother-in-law. No matter how she begged, her mom wouldn't agree and even told her to give up on the idea.

Every time she saw her brother-in-law being so considerate to her sister, she felt very envious, thinking she would find a man like that one day.

After her sister was gone and her brother-in-law was heartbroken, she felt sorry for him, so she would come over to help with chores and look after the kids. After a while, she developed feelings for him.

She didn't know how her mom saw through it, but after that, she wouldn't let her come over anymore and even warned her to maintain the proper decorum between men and women.

Later, her mom had her fall and couldn't come help anymore; she even urged her brother-in-law to remarry soon, so someone could look after the three kids.

Over this matter, she had multiple disputes with her mom, but no matter what she said, her mom stubbornly refused to consent.

It wasn't until Yu Xinyan came over and got the marriage certificate with her brother-in-law that she was let out of the house, which annoyed her to no end.

Her brother-in-law was young and promising, already a workshop team leader at a young age. She'd heard rumors that the workshop director, Liang Xingguo, was about to retire, and the new director would be chosen among their team leaders. The factory leaders thought highly of her brother-in-law, Lyu Juncheng.

Thinking about it, if she could marry her brother-in-law, she would be adored and envied at the factory. Moreover, her brother-in-law's family didn't live here, so no one would be above her in the future.

While she was lost in thought, she heard Lyu Juncheng say, "Dinner's ready, you all go ahead and eat, I'll go find Xiangyang. Who knows where he's run off to."

Yao Hui originally wanted to stop him but was afraid her brother-in-law would get angry, so she had to act all considerate, "Go quickly, that kid is just too fiery. Dinner will be ready soon, bring him back quickly."

Once Lyu Juncheng left, Yao Hui's expression changed instantly, and she mumbled under her breath, "Spoiled kids, really need some discipline."
