Chapter 318 - Chapter 308 – Go Find Something Useful to Do

After finishing breakfast in cheerful spirits, the mood in the dorm quickly turned… odd.

Everyone's expressions varied—some sneered, some looked surprised, some indifferent, and some just wanted to watch the show.

All eyes were fixed on the blond, blue-eyed man wearing an almost overly gentlemanly smile.

"Good morning, my dear friend. I wonder—what plans do you have for the day?"

Anyone who truly knew him would have been stunned into disbelief by this scene.

In their minds, Otto Apocalypse was always the calm, calculating archbishop of Schicksal—composed, unshakable, and endlessly in control.

Yet here he was, wearing a flattering smile, even bordering on sycophantic.

No one could possibly connect this version of him to the cold, ruthless leader of Schicksal.

There was only one reason Otto could ever act like this—Kallen.

Nagami had already proven his ability, reviving Cecilia from death and bringing her back to the world of the living.

Naturally, Otto would now dedicate himself to clearing away any obstacles that might stand in the way of reviving Kallen.

If Nagami needed it, Otto would gladly play the loyal strategist-dog at his side, helping him tame this pack of Valkyries.

He'd even go so far as to use his status as Schicksal's Overseer to convince most of the world's nations to legalize polygamy—if it meant Kallen's revival could happen just a little sooner!

"Unfortunately, this might be something neither you nor I can control."

Shrugging, Nagami spread his hands in helplessness.

Despite Otto practically worshipping him like an ancestor, Nagami had no intention of taking advantage of it.

"The one who actually has the ability to manipulate time and space is… my friend here." He gestured toward Kurumi, who stood smiling elegantly at his side.

His tone carried a subtle edge. "But jumping back five hundred years requires enormous energy. And well… her rate of restoring that power is limited, so… you get the idea~"

Kurumi's smile froze instantly.

…Did he just call her slow? Weak? Useless?

Her wine-red eyes narrowed dangerously, a trace of menace flickering within.

Fine then.

Next time, she'd make sure to prepare more clones.

Still, in the back of her mind, a troubling thought lingered—why was Nagami's stamina as inexhaustible as his time powers?

Could it be that Herrschers had a completely different biological structure compared to ordinary human men?

As Otto's gaze swept over the elf-like girl before him, a rare look of disappointment crossed his face.

So… not every otherworldly being was as extraordinary as his "friend."

"Isn't there really any other way?" Otto pressed a hand to his chest, looking almost wounded.

'Ah, Kallen… my Kallen!'

Yes, he had already waited more than five centuries.

What were a few more years? But now that her revival was within reach, how could he possibly remain calm?

"Hahaha! Hahahahaha!"

Overjoyed, True Kiana burst into laughter, standing proudly by Nagami's side.

Her face was lit up with delight—because seeing Otto so utterly frustrated was the funniest thing she'd seen all day.

Otto, however, paid her no mind.

He brushed off her gloating with an indifferent smile.

As long as Kallen could return, nothing else mattered.

He'd even let himself be killed a few more times just to give Kiana a laugh.

Such was the devotion of the number-one Kallen fanatic in the Honkai universe.

Not even the most obsessive "crybaby" fan could ever compare.

"…Very well." Otto let out a long sigh and turned toward the white-haired "kid" standing behind him, her lips red and her eyes wide.

His expression softened.

"Theresa-chan, it seems your grandpa hasn't been around much lately. I suppose that makes me a rather unqualified guardian. How about I stay with you for a while? Wouldn't that make you happy?"

"What? Grandpa, you're going to stay at St. Freya?"

Theresa's big watery eyes widened in shock as she stared at him, completely incredulous.

"What's this? Theresa-chan, are you saying you don't want me here?" Otto's voice dropped into a pitiful sigh, his expression that of a lonely old man abandoned by family.

"So it's true—once children grow up, they stop being close to their elders…"

"…That's right. You're not welcome." Theresa crossed her arms at her waist, fixing her grandfather with dead-fish eyes full of annoyance.

She could see straight through him—his true target was Nagami!

Nagami himself could only sigh in resignation.

Clearly, until Kallen was revived, Otto would linger at St. Freya to pester him.

Of course, Otto wouldn't do it in any way that Nagami could outright resent.

He'd find subtle, clever ways to "remind" him constantly.

Still… the idea of a blond man scheming about you every single day? Definitely unpleasant.

Shaking his head, Nagami ignored Otto, who had now shifted to teasing Theresa, and lazily sprawled onto the sofa.

Grabbing a controller, he joined C.C. for the latest two-player game.

Meanwhile, Bronya had taken Alexandra out to get familiar with St. Freya's surroundings and explain some of the basics about Honkai—since Alexandra had previously lived as an ordinary human and knew almost nothing about the world's cruel truth.

Cecilia, on the other hand, had dragged True Kiana and the little "paramecium" out for a day of fun, determined to make up for the affection they'd been missing.

Of course, she didn't forget to bring along her daughter from the parallel world either.

After all, who wouldn't be curious about another version of themselves—or another world entirely? Cecilia was eager to find out what that other life was like.

But as the warm, happy little family walked hand in hand to the amusement park gates, Cecilia couldn't shake the feeling that she'd forgotten something.

Right—Sigfried.

For anyone, internal injuries and multiple shattered bones would be severe.

Even for a Kaslana warrior, such wounds weren't something one could brush off.

Although C.C. had treated him, there was no way Sigfried would be leaving his bed for at least half a month.

It wasn't that C.C. couldn't heal him completely—it was just that the whole plan had been a bitter-meat strategy.

If Sigfried wanted True Kiana to forgive him, a little suffering was absolutely required.

During the battle the night before, Mei had given every bit of her usable Honkai energy over to her Herrscher persona.

At the peak of the fight, the two personalities had even shown signs of merging. And after fighting all night, she'd still rushed back to prepare breakfast for everyone.

By the time the dishes were cleaned up, Mei was completely drained.

She used the excuse of "something to do" to retreat to her room and sleep.

In the blink of an eye, a week passed.

Mei had started actively seeking out things she liked, proof that her emotions were becoming richer, more complex.

That once-pristine white canvas, under Nagami's patient efforts, had begun to blossom with vivid colors.

For Nagami, it was like experiencing the joy of raising a girl from scratch—an oddly satisfying feeling.

Kurumi, meanwhile, was experimenting with the Herrscher of Domination's core.

With her bond as a "Fated One," success was guaranteed.

The only risk lay in resisting the corruption of the Honkai Will during her Herrscher transformation.

But Nagami already had a tried-and-true method:

First, use Code to isolate the vessel from the Will, then use Geass to twist it into nothing more than a loyal dog.

If the Honkai Will dared to resist, it was essentially just throwing itself into the grinder.

And so, another week slipped by.

"No… this can't go on. I need to actually do something! I can't just keep 'enjoying' life here at St. Freya!"

Nagami groaned, forcing himself upright with visible effort, clicking his tongue in frustration.

C.C., sitting beside him, clutched her chest like she was on the verge of a heart attack.

Not that she was suffering some biological issue—after all, as someone with Code, the green-haired girl didn't even have to worry about things like monthly cycles.

No, the real problem was Kurumi.

Ever since she'd found what she deemed the "perfect" way to take revenge for all the teasing and bullying Nagami had put her through, she'd been absolutely relentless.

Her stance was clear: she wouldn't stop until Nagami was completely, utterly conquered.

Even the Herrscher of Reason would've collapsed under that kind of siege.

Sure, Nagami could conjure up energy ammo with his powers, but the mental toll was still immense.

And even with C.C. added into the mix, it was still only two bodies against Kurumi.

Kurumi, on the other hand, had an endless supply of clones.

Each clone was essentially a brand-new individual.

Each one was… a "first time."

She could send them in one after another, endlessly.

If not for the fact that daytime made it impossible with all the other Herrscher girls watching, Kurumi could have waged her assault twenty-four-seven.

"To say one Kurumi equals a whole harem is far too shallow an understatement," Nagami thought grimly.

"Even an emperor of old once boasted thousands of concubines. But Kurumi? With my endless supply of time… three thousand is nothing. She could push for thirty thousand… three hundred thousand… and more."

To make matters worse, ever since that night, the Big Three families had begun watching each other like hawks.

If any of the three tried to approach Nagami's room after 11 p.m., the other two would immediately rush over to block the way.

And the paramecium—well, she had it even worse.

Mei and Bronya had teamed up to keep her under strict surveillance.

After all, with her powers of space manipulation, if they let their guard down even for a moment, she might just sneak her way into a "taste of success."
