A cruel battlefield. A suffocating despair. A world consumed by collapse.
When these three converge — a Herrscher is born.
Or perhaps, it's better to say this: from an instant of hopelessness and hatred, the Will of the Honkai manifests — awakening a new personality within the chosen vessel, drawing from their original memories and emotions.
The essence of a Herrscher's "personality" is nothing more than this: a newly formed consciousness overwhelmed by despair, twisted by pain, and bent toward destruction.
Naturally, such a being fulfills the Honkai's will to annihilate human civilization until nothing remains.
That… is what a normal Herrscher is.
But the Final Herrscher, the ultimate trial of civilization, is something entirely different.
It doesn't even have a Herrscher personality.
Or rather its "personality" is the Honkai Will itself, descending directly into the vessel.
When a suitable host remains trapped in endless negative emotion for too long, their human mind gradually breaks apart until all that remains is the will to end everything.
That is how a true "Finality" is born.
It's rare for this to happen naturally.
Most of the time, it's simply the Honkai Will hijacking the vessel like stealing an account — and ending the world itself.
But now… all of the Kianas has fallen into such despair.
There's not even a trace of Final Herrscher energy within them.
As a result, even though the three can still wield their "Honkai energy," their combat strength ranks among the lowest in the team, especially compared to the others who've fully embraced their Herrscher forms.
One-on-one, both true Kiana and the heiress Kiana wouldn't even last long against the "tuna" who had reconciled with her other self — the complete Queen of the Sky.
Even so, when transformed using the twin-drive system, the young "W-Knight" duo could reach near S-rank Valkyrie strength — placing them among the higher ranks of the Herrscher squad.
But that level still wasn't enough to guarantee the the heiress's safety in the Honkai Impact 2nd world.
Nagami couldn't always be by her side to protect her.
A new memory core… had to be created.
Although fusion warriors' cores contain fragments of their souls, if they were willing to cooperate, Nagami could convert those fragments into memory modules compatible with the twin-drive system.
"Oh? You mean… other people?"
Elysia lightly pinched her chin, her lips curling into a playful smile.
A glimmer of mischief flashed in her sky-blue eyes as she pressed a finger to her glossy lips.
After a moment's thought, she tilted her head and asked sweetly,
"Who could it be~? Don't tell me it's another cute girl, right?"
She slid closer, looping her arm around Nagami's shoulders, her expression radiant with charm.
For someone like Nagami Elysia knew exactly how to play her hand.
She could brighten the mood, close the distance between them, and maybe even find his weakness.
"Mhm. Yes a very cute girl." Nagami replied warmly, unfazed by the faint fragrance and softness that surrounded him.
Looking straight into the mischievous fairy's eyes, he smiled gently.
"But compared to that… I think you'll be more interested in their other identity."
He paused.
Then, with a calm voice, spoke words that detonated like a bomb:
"The Perfect Vessels of the End."
The atmosphere shifted instantly, as if the air itself had frozen.
Even Kevin's eyes widened sharply, and every fusion warrior turned their gaze toward the unruffled black-haired boy — expressions of disbelief spreading across their faces.
The Perfect Vessels of the End!?
"That's impossible!" Kalpas shot to his feet, fists clenched, his denial full of raw energy.
After all, the vessel of the Final Herrscher was fundamentally different from that of any ordinary Herrscher.
The latter could be created simply by possessing enough Honkai adaptability — add a pinch of fury and despair, and voilà, a Herrscher is born.
In theory, any high-ranking Valkyrie from Schicksal or senior operative from World Serpent could become one.
The difference lies in the limits of their power and their mental stability.
Ordinary vessels often lack a distinct Herrscher persona — they're just beasts driven purely by destruction, capable of only the crudest use of their authority.
Even weaker than that awful version of the Rock Herrscher in the game!
According to Mei's research, only one vessel of Finality can exist per era.
If that vessel dies prematurely, only then does the Honkai Will replace it at the appointed time.
Which means—
"In the same era, two vessels of Finality can't possibly coexist…" Eden frowned slightly — but before she could finish, Su shook his head.
"Multiverse."
That single word struck everyone like a revelation.
"You mean… you found two Final Herrscher vessels from different universes!?"
Mobius's tongue brushed lightly against her lips, her voice trembling with fascination.
After all — we're talking about Finality!
If two Final Herrschers were to descend simultaneously…
Heh.
That'd basically be Game Over for existence itself.
"Don't worry," Nagami said gently, his calm tone soothing the tension in the air.
"Under the current circumstances, it's almost impossible for either of them to awaken as Finality."
His tranquil eyes met Elysia's serious gaze.
"In a way, that's also why I want you Flame-Chasers to lend them your strength. If the Honkai Will tries to descend directly, your resonance may help resist it — at least for a while."
A safety net, of sorts. Even if uncertain, it was better than having none.
Elysia sighed softly, a wry smile curling her lips.
"In that case… I suppose we have no reason to refuse, do we?"
She turned gracefully, crossing her long, slender legs as her gaze swept across the fusion warriors — excluding Sakura and Kevin.
"What do you all think?"
"Tch. Whatever," Kalpas grumbled, turning away irritably.
Su, Eden, and Hua all exchanged glances before nodding silently.
"And you, Dr. Mobius?" Elysia asked.
"How could I possibly refuse my dear Herrscher~?"
Perched elegantly atop her levitating device, Mobius's petite frame was wrapped in a tight, black lace dress that traced every curve of her body.
The skirt flared like a blooming flower, fluttering in the breeze, while her pale feet glowed softly under the light — toes tinted a faint pink as they swayed lazily in the air.
Her tone was honeyed, her expression innocent — yet the temptation in her voice was lethal.
"Still… I'm dying to know, Herrscher-kun." Her emerald eyes gleamed. "How exactly do you plan to make us part of those two Final Herrscher vessels' power~?"
That question carried a subtle weight, because no one understood the implications better than Mobius.
She had once helped Dr. Mei perfect the fusion warrior project.
She had created Grey Serpent.
And she had contributed to the Stigmata Plan, sacrificing humanity itself in the name of science.
So when she looked at Nagami, she knew what it truly meant.
Because that was exactly how she used to look at her test subjects.
