The sky was broken glass. Buildings hung upside down, stitched to floating earth. A giant Rift split the horizon like a sword slash.
And atop a tower of obsidian, Elias ruled.
Kai saw himself—older, scarred, kneeling at Elias's feet, chained in Riftsteel.
"You tried to change fate," Elias said. "But fate changes you."
