Chapter 30 - The Room Rahul Refused to Open

"Some truths don't get erased. They just get buried deep enough that only blood can dig them up."

— Valenya Vordrakar

Scene 1: The Door Opens

Seven seals.

Three now glowing — Kaien, Olivia, Aeyra.

Valenya pressed her hand to the fourth.

Nothing.

Kaien turned to her.

"You're not blocked."

"You're protecting us from something."

Valenya didn't reply. She just… breathed.

Then nodded.

"I'll stand guard. If that door closes behind you… make sure you come out better than he did."

Scene 2: The Memory Chamber

The door cracked open with a sound like a world sighing in pain.

Inside, they entered a vast, empty room made of nothing but mirrored light.

Floating at the center:

A sealed orb. Carved in Rahul's own hand.

It pulsed when Kaien approached.

A whisper flickered.

"I left this behind… because I couldn't bear to keep it with me."

"But you deserve the full truth."

Kaien touched it.

Scene 3: The Memory Begins

The memory activated.

Rahul stood — younger than ever seen before. No armor. No power pulsing.

Just... human.

He sat in front of a cradle.

Inside: a baby.

Wrapped in blacklight. Eyes glowing faintly.

"He never cried," Rahul whispered to the void.

"Not once. Not when the gods came for me. Not when I destroyed their stars."

"But I did. Because I knew…"

"If I didn't erase him, the world would do it worse."

Olivia's breath hitched.

"That's not Rahn, is it?"

Kaien's voice cracked.

"It's me."

Scene 4: The Hidden Truth

The baby… was Kaien.

Not found.

Not adopted.

Hidden.

Rahul didn't just protect the world from Rahn.

He protected the world from Kaien's original power.

"I sealed half his soul," Rahul whispered.

"Because if left unchecked… his flame wouldn't burn the world."

"It would rewrite it."

"He won't remember this. No one will."

"He'll grow up thinking he earned it. I want him to."

"Because if he ever unlocks his real self too soon…"

"…he'll never get to choose who he becomes."

Scene 5: Kaien's Collapse

Kaien dropped to one knee.

Voidflame curled off him. Not wild — mourning.

"He didn't hide the truth out of shame."

"He hid it so I'd never feel like a weapon."

Olivia knelt beside him.

"And you aren't. You're the choice he never got to be."

Scene 6: Aeyra Sees Herself

While Kaien sat in silence, Aeyra wandered deeper into the memory-field…

And came face to face with herself.

But older.

Wings. A cloak. A burning third eye of starlight.

"Who… are you?"

"I'm what you become," the echo said.

"If Kaien dies before you're ready."

Aeyra fell back, shaking.

The figure vanished.

Scene 7: Zephyr Vanishes

Outside the door, Valenya waited.

Then suddenly — silence.

"Zephyr?"

He was gone.

Only a scorched blade remained.

And a mirror that showed no reflection.

Final Scene: Kaien's Choice

The group stepped out of the chamber.

Kaien stood tall again.

But something had changed.

He looked at the sky, fists clenched.

"He gave me the life I wanted."

"Now I'll give him the legacy he deserved."

"And if Rahn wants to rewrite the world—"

"I'll remind him who the true author is."
