Chapter 43 - When Love Was All He Had

Rahul Flashback Arc — Chapter 3

"Before he erased gods, he held a child.

Before he silenced war, he laughed with someone.

That was the mistake they made—

They thought he was born to destroy."

— Valenya Vordrakar, reading from the Forbidden Diary

Scene 1: The Dream of Peace

After the war of the gods, Rahul vanished.

Not to plan.

Not to conquer.

But to hide.

He found a small world untouched by divine politics.

Lived under a false name.

Built a quiet home near a river of starlight.

And in that hidden place…

He met her.

Scene 2: Elarys — The One Who Made Him Smile

She wasn't powerful.

She didn't bend time or shape matter.

But when she looked at Rahul, she didn't see the flame.

She saw the man.

Her name was Elarys.

A healer.

A singer.

And the one person who ever made Rahul forget he was feared.

Elarys: "Why do you look like the world ended?"

Rahul: "Because I once helped end it."

Elarys: "Then stop helping."

He laughed.

The man who once silenced gods… laughed.

Scene 3: The Child They Named

She gave him a son.

They called him Eiros.

He did not inherit fire.

He inherited hope.

Rahul sang to him. Quietly. Off-key.

For two years, he never summoned Voidflame.

Not once.

"He had everything," Eon would later whisper.

"And then it was taken."

Scene 4: The Divine Retaliation

The gods had been reborn—shadows of the old.

They found Rahul's home.

Not to kill.

But to punish.

They didn't strike him.

They struck her.

And then the child.

Elarys died shielding Eiros.

Rahul held them both.

He screamed once.

Reality cracked from the sound.

But the boy lived.

Barely.

And Rahul… left him behind.

"I can't protect you if I'm near you," he whispered.

"But I'll destroy anything that tries to remember this day."

Scene 5: What the Stars Remember

Rahul buried Elarys under a sky he refused to look at again.

He built a tomb that moves through dimensions — so even time couldn't find her.

And then he vanished.

He erased every god involved.

Every scroll.

Every record.

Every voice that dared say her name without love.

And then?

He never smiled again.

Final Whisper

Kaien once asked Eon Thalor why Rahul fought so hard alone.

Eon only said:

"Because once, he wasn't alone.

And he never forgave the universe for changing that."
