Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

"Feebas, wake up. Follow Lapras closely. Where else would other Pokémon get such good treatment!"

On the right side of the island was another smaller, uninhabited island. Now that he had Lapras, things were much more convenient for Riku. After eating breakfast in the morning, he had Lapras carry him over.

As for Feebas, Riku didn't have the slightest thought of giving up on it. Both were Water-type Pokémon, but Lapras had already reached the quasi-Champion level, which Feebas couldn't compare to at all.

But in Riku's eyes, as long as it was a Pokémon he had caught, it was his family. Who would give up their family?

Don't look at Riku scolding the three birds and the Red Shrimp at every turn; he was actually just disappointed that they weren't living up to their potential. In his heart, he still loved them the same. Otherwise, cooking and preparing food every day, busy with everything without any salary — if it wasn't love, who could persist?

Ding—

Feebas's level increased.

Leveled up again?

Riku was taken aback, then looked at Feebas's level and started to have a headache.

When other people's Pokémon leveled up, they would probably excitedly eat two extra bowls of rice. But every time Riku saw Feebas level up without any change, he would feel extremely speechless.

Speaking of this level issue, ordinary Pokémon Trainers weren't very clear about it. They could only make a rough judgment about their own Pokémon's level. If they wanted to be more accurate, they could only go to professional institutions, find bǐshòu (doctor)-level professionals, spend time, manpower, and resources to retrieve data and analyze a large amount of statistics to determine the Pokémon's level.

And even then, it might not be accurate.

Compared to the system's efficiency, the difference wasn't just a little bit.

Helplessly patting Feebas's head, Riku sighed. "When will you ever evolve? Do you have any idea?"

Feebas flapped its tail, its attitude a bit ingratiating, but it didn't respond at all.

Suddenly, Riku remembered what May had said yesterday.

He summoned the system and immediately entered the shop. After flipping through a few pages, there was actually a Prism Scale.

It cost a whopping 100,000 points.

Riku currently only had a little over 70,000 points. He was short nearly 30,000. Moreover, Riku had to keep at least 20,000 points in reserve.

In other words, he needed to earn 50,000 points before he could confidently purchase a Prism Scale.

Since the system shop allowed purchasing with points, Riku immediately lost the desire to have Feebas continue absorbing battle experience. He knew that even if he trained Feebas to the same high level as the current Lapras, without any moves and with pitifully low base stats, Feebas still couldn't defeat wild Pokémon on its own.

A Champion-level Feebas was still just a Feebas.

And Riku was also worried that if he trained Feebas to an excessively high level, it might hinder its stats from improving much after evolution.

Without any experience and having come to the strange Pokémon world alone, Riku needed to explore and discover things on his own.

Returning to the island, as soon as he saw the three birds and Groudon lying down comfortably, occasionally bickering and boasting, Riku's anger flared up.

"Get up, quickly get up!" Riku said angrily. "Did I not punish you yesterday, making you think I'm easy to bully? Train! Today, I'm going to train you to death!"

Riku's anger caused the weather to seem to change.

The three birds and Groudon trembled all over, quickly getting up from the ground.

They didn't know where Riku's inexplicable anger came from and immediately gave Lapras a look. They all thought Lapras had caused this, leading to Riku wanting to train them to death.

The four Legendary Pokémon's fierce gazes almost scared Lapras out of its wits.

It knew that if the three legendary birds and the Lord of the Land didn't restrain their power, their gazes alone could kill it dozens of times.

Lapras quickly shook its head and used telepathy. "Dear Legendary Pokémon, dear sirs. It really has nothing to do with me. If you want to blame someone, blame Feebas. It must be its slow progress that made Master impatient."

Lapras's words were a bit disloyal.

The problem was, Feebas was swimming happily in the large water tank at this moment, completely ignoring the resentful gazes of the Legendary Pokémon.

The first stage of training immediately began under Riku's urging.

Since Lapras was new and its body wasn't suitable for the first training, Riku told it to just watch.

Watching the three legendary birds and Groudon call a simple movement training, Lapras was a bit speechless.

Especially seeing the four Legendary Pokémon become exhausted in just a short while, with Groudon even collapsing five times, Lapras even secretly shook its head.

It felt that Legendary Pokémon weren't all that great either.

An hour later, the system prompt sounded, and Riku, having received the points, immediately led the group of Pokémon to the bottom of the waterfall.

Riku planned to have Lapras participate in this training.

Learning that it had to train with four Legendary Pokémon, Lapras was taken aback.

It immediately felt a sense of unworthiness: it was just an ordinary Pokémon, yet it was training with Legendary Pokémon.

However, seeing that it was just sitting still under the waterfall, Lapras nodded in agreement without much thought.

Whether it was standing on one leg or sitting still under the waterfall, Lapras didn't think it was very difficult. With its strength, it should be able to complete the training easily.
