Chapter 83 - Chapter 83

"Great being, these two are both Team Galactic executives."

"The red-haired one is called Mars, and the pinkish-purple-haired one is called Jupiter."

"They each have three Ace Trainer-level Pokémon. If Master shows strength, Mars and Jupiter are very likely to team up directly..."

Darkrai's reminder immediately rang in Riku's mind.

However, after hearing only half of it, Riku directly interrupted, "Alright."

"Aren't they just Ace Trainer-level Pokémon? And each only has three. Seeing how nervous you are, I thought they were Elite Four-level trainers."

"Darkrai, you watch from the side and don't interfere!" Riku instructed.

Firstly, he feared that if Darkrai took action, their relationship would be discovered by others, which would definitely lead to trouble later.

Secondly, ever since Riku had a match with Shiba, he knew battling Pokémon trainers would cause his points to skyrocket. Such a good opportunity to farm points—Riku definitely had to seize it.

"Who are you?" Mars, the red-haired girl with a rather irritable temper, questioned Riku as soon as she arrived.

"It's him!" Jupiter, the pinkish-purple-haired girl, recognized Riku at once. She had seen him on the surveillance footage and thought this young man was quite good-looking.

"Mars, this is the young man who invaded Alamos Town with Cynthia today..."

"Hey, hey, hey, can you guys speak properly? Are you serious?" Riku directly interrupted.

"What do you mean we invaded Alamos Town? Is this your place?"

"On the contrary, all the way here, I've heard the original residents of Alamos Town cursing your Team Galactic—calling you robbers. What are you looking at?"

Riku was complaining when he noticed Mars and Jupiter ignoring him, instead looking around vigilantly as if afraid of something.

After a little thought, Riku knew exactly what the two Team Galactic executives feared.

"No need to be so afraid," Riku sneered.

"Are you wary of Miss Cynthia? Afraid that the Sinnoh Champion will suddenly appear?"

"She didn't come tonight. You can rest assured."

"Really?" Mars and Jupiter were dubious. After all, this young man looked like a Pokémon trainer with no real strength. It was unlikely Cynthia would let him come to Alamos Town alone.

"What kind of look is that?" Riku said speechlessly.

"I said no, so it's no. You two came all the way here to question me, yet you're scared to death. What exactly do you mean?"

"Please leave," Mars said seriously.

"Alamos Town has already been occupied by us. I hope you can be sensible. We don't know your relationship with Miss Cynthia, but if you go too far, we won't show mercy."

"No need to show mercy," Riku laughed.

"Miss Cynthia and I actually have no relationship at all."

"Since we've come this far, let's fight. Anyway, isn't your Team Galactic used to being overbearing and arrogant?"

"You occupied Alamos Town. Did you even ask the residents here?"

"Impudent!" Mars and Jupiter rebuked at the same time.

"Out of respect for Miss Cynthia, we've already advised you once."

"Since you insist on opposing us, even Miss Cynthia won't have the face to speak up for you after we teach you a lesson."

"Also, I hope you can persuade Miss Cynthia not to come to Alamos Town again. Otherwise, when our Team Galactic rules the Pokémon world..."

"Don't talk nonsense to me!" Riku rolled his eyes and directly threw out a Poké Ball.

"Come out, Milotic.

It's been a long time since I've battled. Come out and stretch your bones."

"Haya~"

Watching the beautiful and slender Milotic emerge from the Poké Ball, Mars and Jupiter were dumbfounded.

This was Milotic, the most beautiful and rare Pokémon in the Pokémon world.

Regarding Cynthia's Pokémon, these two executives had long memorized them by heart. The moment they saw Milotic, they thought of Cynthia again.

"You... I didn't expect Cynthia to actually lend you her Milotic!"

"Shameless! If you have the guts, don't rely on a woman's Pokémon, you gigolo!!"

Mars and Jupiter's flustered and incoherent scolding made Riku pause. He quickly understood and said helplessly:

"What are you thinking? The entire Pokémon world doesn't just have Cynthia with a Milotic."

"What, don't I look like Milotic's owner?"

"You still dare to lie to us? Where on your body... wait, no!"

Mars and Jupiter were Ace Trainer-level trainers and Team Galactic executives. They had even seen legendary Pokémon a few times, so they were quite experienced.

Before long, they sensed the Milotic before them didn't have a very strong aura.

They were Ace Trainer-level trainers themselves and knew quite a bit about Ace-level Pokémon. After some judgment, they knew the Milotic wasn't the Elite Four-level Pokémon Cynthia had.

"No wonder you brat dares to be so arrogant," the two executives regained their composure.

"So you have an Ace Trainer-level Milotic."

"I understand now. You must be Cynthia's younger brother or relative, right? Is this Milotic the offspring of Cynthia's Milotic?"

"Haya!!"

Milotic was stunned—then flew into a rage.

When it was still a Feebas, it didn't care what people said about it.

It thought it was ugly and weak. Being a Feebas with no presence, as long as it had food and drink every day, that was enough.

But now it was different.

Its friends on the island were legendary, pseudo-legendary, or Elite Four-level Pokémon.

The only Farfetch'd was a cook, and no Pokémon dared to offend it.

Milotic had evolved a bit late and hadn't eaten any berries, so it was undoubtedly the bottom-tier Pokémon on the island.

Pride drove Milotic to desperately gain battle experience recently. It hadn't expected that after day and night of hard work, the two human women in front would think it was someone else's egg.

Unbearable.

"Ace Trainer-level Pokémon, who are you trying to scare!"

Not only were the two women unafraid, they mocked it before throwing out their Poké Balls.

"Come out, Bronzor."

"Come out, Zubat."

"Haya~"

Seeing the two women summon their Pokémon, Milotic immediately asked for battle.

However, Riku frowned.

"What do you mean? Are you two going to fight me two-on-one?"

"Hmph! This isn't a Gym battle or a League competition. As long as we can capture you, that's all that matters!" Mars snorted coldly.

"Seeing your relationship with Cynthia isn't bad, if we can capture you, it should prevent her from acting rashly."

"Thank you for delivering yourself to our doorstep."

"It seems you guys are really quite confident," Riku sneered.

"Two against one—you think you've got me?"

"I don't think so."

"Lapras, come out!"

A flash of white light almost blinded Mars and Jupiter.

When they saw Lapras shrouded in white mist, emanating an icy aura, the two Team Galactic executives, considered quite knowledgeable, shuddered.

"Elite Four-level Pokémon!"

"Don't make such a fuss. I even have a pseudo-legendary," Riku said casually.

"Although it's a bit unfair for me to take on the two of you alone...

But who asked me to be a man?"

"Come on, both of you."

"Let me witness the strength of Team Galactic's executives!"

Mars and Jupiter exchanged glances, not making any move.

When they saw Milotic earlier, thinking it was just Ace Trainer-level, they had spoken arrogantly.

But now...

Facing the Elite Four-level Lapras, they didn't even dare to speak.

An Elite Four-level Pokémon could instantly wipe out their two Ace-level Pokémon.

What was the point in fighting?

They might as well surrender.

"If you're not going to make a move, then I will," Riku didn't want to waste time. Darkrai was still waiting for him to catch it.

With a wave of his hand, he wanted to order Lapras to attack.

"Haya~"

Suddenly, Milotic interrupted Riku. Judging by its meaning, it didn't want Lapras to attack and wanted to take on the two Ace Trainer-level Pokémon by itself.

"Milotic, are you sure?"

"Haya!"

"Alright then!" Receiving Milotic's reply, Riku said with relief.

"Lapras, don't attack for now."

"Let Milotic handle this herself!"

"Waa~" Lapras understood Milotic's feelings and agreed.

Riku's words made Mars and Jupiter's minds race.

"Are you really planning to use just one Milotic to deal with our two Pokémon?"

"What you say, you have to be able to do. Unless you're not a man."

"Don't try to provoke me!" Riku frowned.

"Milotic, go!"

"Use Twister on Bronzor!"

Why start the fight so suddenly?

Mars and Jupiter were taken aback, then exchanged a glance before immediately issuing commands.

"Bronzor, use Metal Sound to lower Milotic's defense!"

"Zubat, Poison Fang! Be ready to poison Milotic at any time!"

The two executives coordinated seamlessly.

Bronzor, a Steel/Psychic-type, though its defense couldn't compare to a pseudo-legendary like Metagross, was already quite good compared to ordinary Pokémon.

So, enduring Milotic's Twister, it successfully used Metal Sound.

As for Zubat, it waited for an opportunity and slowed its attack.

It would wait for Milotic's defense to drop and then strike with Poison Fang.

Thinking about leaving teeth marks on Milotic's milky white body, Zubat flapped its wings excitedly.

"Not bad coordination."

In such a dangerous situation, Riku had the mood to nod.

"Milotic, Life Dew.

The more they want to end the battle quickly, the slower we'll go."

"Don't rush; you should still have a few opponents later."

"Haya~"

Milotic responded, instantly scattering a patch of crystal-clear water droplets on the dry ground.

"It's time, Zubat, go!" Jupiter issued the command again, and Zubat flew fiercely toward Milotic.

Just as its fangs dripping with purple liquid were about to bite Milotic's tail, Riku and Milotic made the same judgment as if telepathically connected.

"Milotic, Aqua Tail!"

"Ha!!"

Zubat, a mere first-stage Pokémon, was sent flying by Milotic's powerful Aqua Tail.

Before Jupiter could react, Riku followed up with another command, his voice sharp and decisive:

"Don't let up—Water Pulse, now!"

Not good!

Zubat had barely withstood the physical blow. There was no way it could take a direct hit from Water Pulse, especially coming from a Pokémon like Milotic—famous for its exceptional Special Attack.

Frantically, Jupiter grabbed Zubat's Poké Ball to recall it.

But she wasn't a seasoned veteran like Elite Four's Shiba. Her hesitation cost her.

"Gaa—!"

With a screech, Zubat crashed to the ground, completely knocked out.

"Quick, send out another Pokémon! My Bronzor can't hold out against that thing!" Mars called out, clearly flustered.

"Bronzor, come out!"

Riku blinked. Then sighed.

"Really? Another Bronzor? Figures—same organization, same tactics."

He narrowed his eyes.

"And I doubt this one's any stronger than the last."

"Watch your mouth!" the women snapped in unison.

"Talk all you want once your Milotic's actually won!"

"Bronzor, Psychic, now!"

Both Bronzor unleashed their attacks together. The dual Psychic waves hit Milotic head-on. It shuddered, clearly in pain.

But Riku remained composed, eyes focused.

He pointed at the newly summoned Bronzor.

"Milotic, hit the one on the left—Water Pulse!"

Why me again?!

Jupiter's eyes widened. She felt cornered, targeted.

The Bronzor struggled to stay afloat after the blow. Realizing it couldn't hold out, Jupiter gritted her teeth and threw out her trump card.

"Skuntank, let's go!"

But the moment Skuntank appeared, Milotic launched another attack—without even needing a command.

Jupiter's jaw dropped.

"Y-You... stop targeting me like this! Are you even a man?!"

Her voice cracked with frustration as her Skuntank was battered by Milotic's relentless offense. Meanwhile, Mars's Bronzor was trapped in Twister and Wrap, unable to act.

Riku's gaze was cold.

"Whether I'm a man or not is none of your business."

"You two jumped me together. Did I complain?"

His voice dropped to a near growl.

"From here on out—this is one-on-one. The other exec can fend for herself."
