Chapter 11 - 05 Wes- I’m Not Crazy!

To be read after "One of a Kind 3"

Wes considered the haunted house a missed opportunity. He knew something had happened, and thought Danny Fenton was at the middle of it. He decided to stalk Danny in hopes of seeing something supernatural.

Although Danny looked more tired than usual, it wasn't until the library that something happened. Wes was about to follow Danny and his friends out of the library when a strange being in armor appeared out of nowhere.

"Hmm, so this is your prey, eh, Ghost Boy?" the armored person mused.

"'Ghost Boy'?" Wes whispered. He hid behind book shelves and watched the armored person. Was this a ghost? It must be!

Mikey walked up to the ghost. "Uh, excuse me, sir? Are you finished with the computer?"

Tiny guns popped out of the ghost's armor and shot green blasts at Mikey. The poor boy was pinned to the wall upside-down, crying out in fear.

"You thought you could sneak up on me, Skulker? Ghost world's greatest predator?" the ghost said. That confirmed Wes's theory, and then some! "Quiet, you're in a library."

He shot another green blast that covered Mikey's mouth, then left the library. He walked out like a normal person instead of floating out like a ghost. How strange! Maybe it had something do with his armor. Wes had to do more investigating.

On Saturday, Wes followed Danny and his friends to the Amity Park Zoo. He stayed out of sight to just watch. He wasn't ready to reveal himself yet.

It was a long and boring day, but Wes was determined to see something. Unfortunately, he couldn't see much from his vantage point on the ground while Danny and his friends were up in the observation tower.

Finally, as the sun was setting, Sam left the observation tower to check on the gorilla. She released the gorilla from its habitat. What was she thinking?! The gorilla immediately ran toward the tiger habitat, which was in the opposite direction from the observation tower. Skulker was there, and the gorilla attacked him. A gorilla fighting a ghost! Man, if only Wes had his camera!

Sam ran back to the observation tower, and minute later, the black and white blur flew out, carrying the gorilla. He must be a ghost! But where did he come from? Wes had been watching the tower. No one went in or out except for Danny, his friends, Skulker, and the gorilla. Was that Danny Fenton?! No way! But… that would explain so much!

Skulker was gone, and Danny the ghost—ghost!—flew the gorilla back to his habitat. Tucker and Sam ran down to meet him at the control panel, and the three argued. Sam tried to convince Danny and Tucker that there was a ghost, but the boys didn't believe her.

After their argument, however, white rings spread over Danny's body. He transformed into a human! It was definitely Danny Fenton!

Now Wes knew! He knew… what did he know? Danny was a ghost. But he was also a human. Was he… a half-ghost? That would explain so much! Danny Fenton could transform into a ghost!

But… who would believe Wes?

At gym on Monday, Danny had Dash open his locker and ran to hide with Tucker. Curious, Wes left Kyle, who had his headphones on. Wes hid behind Danny and Tucker to watch what was going on.

Dash was stuck to the wall by a glowing green bubble. His scream was muffled, and his eyes were covered by more goo. Skulker was examining Dash in confusion.

"Hmm, my sensors indicate you're an average human, destined for an average life after high school," Skulker said. "I shall—" A beeping on his wrist cut him off. "'The gorilla display at the museum of natural history'?" Wings popped out from his back and he flew through the ceiling. Through the ceiling! He was definitely a ghost!

Dash was released from the goo bubble, and he asked, "What-what just happened?"

Wes stepped forward. This was his moment! His opportunity to reveal what he had learned that Saturday!

"I can tell you what that was," Wes declared. "That was a ghost! And he's after Danny Fenton!"

Dash stopped being scared and went back to being a bully. "What are you talking about, Wes-turd?"

Wes pointed at Danny and said, "Danny Fenton is a half ghost, and that other ghost is after him!"

Dash scoffed at him. "Fen-tiny isn't a ghost! He's standing right there."

"He's only half-a-ghost," Wes said. "Right now he appears human, but he can become a ghost whenever he wants."

"This is crazy," Tucker said with a laugh. "I'm his best friend. I think I would notice if he was a ghost."

Wes stomped his foot in frustration. "I'm not crazy! You're probably just covering for him."

"What's taking so long?" came Ms. Tetslaff's voice. "Don't make me come in there!"

"Come on," Danny said, "we need to get ready for gym."

"But—" Wes tried.

"And I'm not a ghost!" Danny snapped.

Wes went back to Kyle, who still had his headphones on. "You believe me, don't you?"

Kyle looked up at him and removed his headphones. "What?"

Wes moaned in frustration. "Of course! You didn't see anything, did you?"

"See what?" Kyle asked.

Wes moaned again and slid his hands over his face.

Now that Wes knew what Danny was, he needed proof. But how could he get it without a camera? Also, how could he get it if Danny destroyed his next camera? Instead of following Danny some more, Wes spent the next couple of days figuring out what to do.
