I don't get it. I really don't.
There are some theoretical classes in which we study the very basics of aria weaving and incantations, but that's all there is to it.
When we go to practice, the focus is on leveling up and unlocking skills and casting magic using those skills. Pure and simple.
When any student shows curiosity and interest in learning more about actual magic, the teachers quickly dissuade them.
Not all teachers, of course. There is one who seems to be eager to teach proper magic, Gilbert.
But he is seen as an untrustworthy eccentric by the school board. There is an almost-silent campaign to turn students away from him, spearheaded by the Principal.
And it isn't like he actually knows much, either. He is trying, which is more than can be said about the others, though.
The principal is a pious old man called Munderic. He is very uptight and spent almost all of his speaking time in the entrance ceremony glazing over the goddess.
