Tristan was ready to leave by mid-afternoon. He had spent hours deliberating on his decision and he was still not totally agreeing with himself.
Instead of returning as a stronger version of himself, he was going back weaker than how he left.
"Are you sure this is what you really want?" Nita asked as they walked to join Boston in the car.
"It's not about what I want, it's just what I have to do.
If I have the opportunity I would be half way across the world chasing penguins on an island or camping somewhere." He replied with a forced smile.
"Oh, poor child". Nita said with a sob and they both laughed.
"Maybe we can do that together in the future". Nita said excitedly.
But Tristan shook his head.
"That doesn't seem plausible". He replied but was grateful that she was trying to lighten the mood.
They bid themselves goodbye with a tight hug and Tristan entered the car with a heavy heart.
"Don't forget you can always come back here!" She yelled after him and he nodded.
