Shua—
The image of Uchiha Shisui, frozen in the ice, dissipated completely.
In the end, within the icy prison, only Uchiha Fugaku remained—Shisui had vanished.
"He dodged it!"
Uchiha Fugaku raised an eyebrow slightly. His attempt to trap Shisui using the Ice Prison had failed.
To think that even in such a situation, Uchiha Shisui still managed to escape using the Body Flicker Technique.
"The key is still Shisui's speed!"
The reason Shisui could make every clone seem both real and not real at the same time was due to the lightning-fast movement of his Body Flicker Technique.
The reason he could evade the Ice Prison was, again, that same blistering speed.
"If I can't suppress Shisui's speed, then even using Susanoo would be pointless!"
The earlier stages of Susanoo, while immensely powerful, lacked mobility.
Even the later stages—though they gained some movement—still couldn't match Shisui's speed.
Using Susanoo would ensure he wouldn't be harmed by Shisui, but at the cost of massive chakra consumption.
Meanwhile, Shisui's movements barely consumed chakra.
One drains chakra, the other conserves it. Naturally, the one with heavier consumption is at a disadvantage. That's why Fugaku didn't use Susanoo.
"There's one jutsu that should work…"
A counter to Shisui's Body Flicker came to Fugaku's mind. He quickly weaved hand seals.
"Ice Style: Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals!"
Moisture in the air condensed—ice mirrors began forming one by one.
The mirrors formed a hemispherical field around him, enclosing a hundred-meter radius.
The massive frozen prison melted away. His body, like slipping into water, merged into one of the mirrors.
The mirrors reflected one another, and within each one appeared Fugaku's image.
"There!"
Inside the dome of icy mirrors, Shisui scanned his surroundings with high alert.
He wasn't fooled—his Sharingan caught the chakra of Fugaku's real body.
Though not as perceptive as the Byakugan, the Sharingan could still see chakra, allowing him to pinpoint Fugaku's location quickly.
Shua—
Activating the Body Flicker, he charged toward the mirror hiding Fugaku.
His blade slashed through the air, aiming to shatter the icy surface—
But suddenly, his pupils contracted sharply.
With the enhanced vision of his Mangekyō Sharingan, he saw Fugaku emerge from the mirror—moving even faster than Shisui's own Body Flicker.
In the split second they passed each other, a kunai sliced toward Shisui's throat.
Still mid-flicker, Shisui reflexively twisted his body aside.
The kunai grazed his neck, leaving a shallow cut from which blood began to trickle.
"How is his Body Flicker suddenly that fast?"
Shisui touched his neck, staring at the blood now on his fingers. Cold sweat slid down his forehead.
Fast. Too fast.
So fast that even he—famed as the fastest in Konoha—barely avoided it.
It made no sense.
Fugaku's speed had always been beneath his. But now… he was faster?
There was no time to ponder.
Shua—
As they passed, Fugaku slipped back into the mirror like water.
Moments later, he shot out from another mirror, lunging at Shisui again.
The kunai slashed toward Shisui's chest—
Ssshhh—
Shisui pushed his Body Flicker to the limit, instantly reappearing more than ten meters away to avoid the slash.
But he hadn't fully dodged it.
His shirt was ripped open across the chest, and thin streams of blood seeped out.
He was injured again.
Though it was only a light wound, it proved that his speed—his pride—was now being outmatched.
"These mirrors are the problem. I can't stay inside this range!"
He began to suspect that Fugaku's sudden speed boost was due to these icy mirrors.
They must be part of a special Kekkei Genkai technique that enhanced movement speed.
A Body Flicker-based Kekkei Genkai!
The mirrors were the key. If he could escape their range, Fugaku would lose that unnatural speed.
Shua—
Pushing his Body Flicker to its limit, he darted toward the gaps between the mirrors, aiming to slip out.
"So, you figured it out? And what of it?"
From within one of the mirrors, Fugaku observed all of Shisui's movements.
Seeing Shisui race toward the space between mirrors, he immediately realized his secret had been discovered.
But knowing it was one thing. Escaping was another.
Shua—
Fugaku shot out of a mirror, catching up to the flickering Shisui and aiming a kunai straight at his back.
Ssshhh—
At the critical moment, Shisui abandoned his escape route, sidestepping just in time to narrowly avoid the kunai aimed at his heart.
But he paid for it with another cut—and still failed to escape the mirror field.
"Just speed alone won't get me out of this…"
Shisui's face was grave.
Fugaku's speed was just too fast. There was no opportunity to break free by movement alone.
"If I can't escape—then I'll destroy it!"
Shisui gripped his blade in his right hand while his left wove hand seals so fast they left afterimages.
"Fire Style: Great Dragon Fire Technique!"
Three enormous fire dragons roared to life, crashing into one side of the mirror field like blazing locomotives.
BOOM—
Flames engulfed that entire section, forming a blazing wall of fire.
As the flames died down, the path was revealed once more.
"What?"
Shisui's expression shifted to shock.
Despite the fire jutsu, the icy mirrors hadn't completely melted.
Only parts of them were damaged—and even those were rapidly regenerating.
This was a full-power fire jutsu from a Kage-level shinobi. Its core temperature could easily melt steel in an instant.
And yet… these mirrors survived.
From within one of the mirrors, Fugaku calmly observed that Shisui's full-force fire technique failed to destroy them. He wasn't surprised.
These were Kekkei Genkai ice mirrors, formed from Ice Release at the Kage level. They were far from ordinary ice.
They possessed hardness beyond steel—and immense heat resistance.
Ssshhh—
Once again, Fugaku darted from a mirror, attacking Shisui and landing another strike before vanishing back into the mirrors.
