Chapter 2
Suko ran through the forest knowing the danger that had just struck his family, he knew if he didnt make haste he would soon join them in their graves.
While carrying his puppy, Aries, he tried his best to keep on the run while saving enough stamina for the jumps and slides he would be performing to keep the enemie off his tail.
While running the sun starts to come up and makes him easier to identify. He comes across a river which seems to contain fish and clear drinkable water, after drinking some he presumed his race to safety, with nothing but the clothes on his back, dog in his arms and the horror of death in printed in the back of his head.
A man with a wagon spots him and sees he needs assistance, "Hey young man, where are you off to in such a hurry?". Suko stares at him before answering "I need to find help sir, my family was attacked" the mans face turns pale before calling him to get on his wagon, "Hurry young one, lets get you to the village". They traveled along the dusty road to the village "Ghoku", while traveling the man asked him about his family. Suko answered best he can while trying not to show his emotions, and all the old man could do was listen and nod.
As they approached the village the old man dropped him off at a friends house, paid him to keep the boy for a few days while he finished his deliveries.
Suko stood and looked at his new guardians with an uneasy look. "Hey kid, whats your name?" Suko had no choice but to reply, seeing this is the home he was to be accepted in. "Suko, my name is Suko sir" the man looked at him and thought, why would his friend bring a stranger out of nowhere to his home, "Welcome Son, I got a nice pot of rabbit stew brewing, im sure youll like it"
Suko smiled before entering the mans home. Upon entering he sees all these different weapons displayed on the walls, some hanging from the roof and some on precious silver stands and much more. The man presumes his cooking and finally dished the food and presented it to the dinner table. "Sir i never got to ask your name?" The man smiles and looks at him, "My name is Rui, Rui Yakama, what might your last name be?"
Suko sat and wondered whether this man knows the rumor and if he does what might he do to him, so he made up a new last name to avoid any suspension, "Its Hashiro, Suko Hashiro" The man smiles and tells him its a nice name.
They presume to eat their stew before the man shows him to the room he would be sleeping in, "This is it kiddo, your room for the time youll be staying with me, its not much but..it will suffice" Suko never had his own room and it was a new experience for him. "So all this is for me?, No sharing of beds or anything?" Rui looked at him and laughed, "Ofcourse kid, now its bed time, will come check up on you in the morning".
The evening went smoothly as Suko enjoyed his new accommodation, and his puppy was just as happy as he was.
Morning comes around and the boy gets woken up by a loud bang of pans and pots, "Its breakfast time kiddo!!", In his sleepy state he came out of the room and expected a plate on the table, but as soon as he looks up he sees Rui with a fishing pole, a bucket and a net. "Aww, did you think the food as ready?, Hahahah..Not yet it isnt, we gotta go catch our own food, isnt it fun!?".
Suko stares at him with his droopy eyes, "Catch our own food?", Rui looks at him and smiles, "There is this saying, give a man a fish and you can feed him for a day, teach him to fish and something something, i forgot the other part, but as i was saying, were going fishing!!".
The two wander through the village to a nearby lake and proceed to hook their bait and get their nets ready..With it being Suko's first time fishing he just sat and watch Rui fight with the water and struggle to toss the net in the water, "Uum, Rui?...Are you sure you know how to use those?". Rui confidently nods and tells him its all part of the process.
While they say there catching a few small fish, Suko sees a leaf fall next to him, and a faint sound of branches moving above them.
As soon as he was about to say something Rui stops him, "Dont move, pretend like you didnt notice anything". He then tells him to stay put while he left to go get some worms for bait, but little did the spies know that they've been made. As Rui goes a short distance, he removes a spear from the bushes and patiently waits for one to make a move, as soon as he sees the figure creeping towards the boy he tossed the spear and nicked him right in the ribs, and in a flash he grabbed him mid air and got him in a chock hold, "So your the little pig thats been shadowing me, WHO SENT YOU!?"
He tries to deny it and so Rui took out a Kunai and slowly sliced his cheek to get him to talk, "I was after the boy, the only order i was given was to observe and report back i swear" Rui looks at the boy and wonders why a ninja of his calliper would be hunting down a boy of his age. "Thank you, but as we both know you cant leave this place alive", before he could plead for his life Rui slit his throat and tossed the body in the river for the fish to feast apon. "Kid, we got a lot to talk about, pack up and lets head back"...
