Hazel's POV
I don't think I've ever felt pain like this before. My wolf was howling inside me, clawing at my insides as if it wanted to rip free. Lilith had just finished packing the two bodies, and the weight of what we were about to do pressed down on my chest. We were going home with them dead.
How could I face their parents? What would we even tell them? Lying was pointless—the entire pack had probably already felt it the moment Cayden's body fell.
"Is this the end?" Aurora whispered, her whole body trembling as though the words themselves froze her. "The triplets are gone. Our Alpha, our Beta, and the one who knew Dahlia well enough to stop her—they're gone… forever."
Her sister knelt beside her, eyes burning with tears but voice steady. "This is not the end. We will find a way to bring them back."
Lilith's hands stilled where she had been wrapping the bodies. Slowly, she rose to her feet, a flicker of something wild sparking in her eyes.
