[Excellent Large Ship]: A large and high-quality vessel that can be synthesized.
Kairos Flint blinked in disbelief after reading the text. He rubbed his eyes, but the words didn't disappear.
It wasn't a hallucination.
This was real—and likely a function of his golden finger, the strange system that had awakened with him.
"So... I can synthesize this ship now?"
Kairos was stunned by the prompt. He looked away, trying to refocus. But as soon as he lowered his gaze, more text popped up before his eyes—lines in various colors: white, green, and even some in orange. Each line floated above a corresponding item.
He scanned the information quickly:
[Low-Quality Shirt]: A worn shirt. Can be synthesized.
[Low-Quality Trousers]: Basic trousers. Can be synthesized.
[Ordinary Machete]: A standard blade. Can be synthesized.
[Low-Quality Shoes]: Worn shoes. Can be synthesized.
Each item was labeled, ready for synthesis.
Undeniably, this had to be connected to the recent boost in his physical and soul stats. Reaching the Sergeant Level must have unlocked a new function in his ability.
Curious, he glanced down at the sword in his hand—the Third Generation Demon Blade. Immediately, a striking line of orange text appeared:
[Cursed Blade – Sandai Kitetsu]: A demon sword said to bring death to its wielder. Can be synthesized.
Even his blade could be upgraded now.
Kairos narrowed his eyes thoughtfully. If synthesis could be applied to the Sandai Kitetsu, then in theory, he could evolve it step by step—from a Cursed Blade to a High-Grade Blade, then to a Great Blade, a Supreme Great Blade, and maybe... even to the level of a Divine Weapon.
The idea sent a thrill through his chest.
Good weapons were rare—opportunities like this even more so.
"Nami! No need to finish cleaning up the ship!" he called out abruptly. "Let's head to the nearest island. We're taking the pirate ship with us."
Nami turned in surprise. "Huh?!"
She had questions but didn't press. She trusted him—especially after their latest haul. Between the loot and the bounties from the pirates they'd taken down, her share alone would be nearly 5 million Beli.
Right now, Kairos Flint was her golden goose.
She wasn't about to argue.
Shortly after, on a nearby island…
"Kairos, what are we doing here?" Nami asked, confused as they unloaded supplies.
"An experiment," he replied simply.
With that, he continued moving everything from the pirate ship onto the shore—provisions, valuables, and even the corpses of wanted pirates.
Sure, he could have used his portable space to store everything in an instant. But his relationship with Nami was still based on cooperation—they weren't exactly close. He didn't plan to reveal his abilities just yet.
Nami didn't press further. She just watched.
Soon enough, both ships were almost bare. Everything of value was now ashore.
The two vessels—his original ship and the captured pirate ship—floated side by side at the dock.
Kairos's gaze shifted back to them. Lines of text appeared in his vision again:
[Excellent Large Ship]: A high-grade vessel. Can be synthesized.
[Ordinary Boat]: A basic-quality boat. Can be synthesized.
One line was blue, the other green—clearly marking their respective quality tiers.
It made sense.
Their own ship had cost around three million Beli, scraped together between him and Nami. It was meant to be a temporary vessel—no wonder it was a lower grade.
He placed his hands on both ships.
[Synthesize?] the prompt appeared.
"Yes," he said silently in his mind.
Suddenly, the ships began to move—slowly drifting together like merging bubbles.
Kairos noticed something immediately.
First, the synthesis process allowed him to choose a primary vessel to upgrade. Without hesitation, he selected his original boat. He had invested in it—it was half his, after all. The pirate ship would serve as raw material.
Second, as the synthesis began, he felt a powerful drain on his physical energy—just like when he had synthesized crystals before.
About half of his stamina was consumed in an instant.
Quickly, Kairos pulled a rare body crystal from his portable space and swallowed it. His stamina began to recover just as fast as it had been drained—good thing his body was tough enough to handle the cycle of depletion and recovery.
Still, the synthesis dragged on.
He remained alert, preparing to take another crystal if needed.
Finally—after about thirty seconds—his stamina stopped draining.
The synthesis was complete.
He looked back toward the water.
Where there had once been two ships, now only one remained.
[Excellent Boat]: A vessel of excellent quality…
