By the time Yusuke returned to the Gremory Estate, it was already noon.
Before coming back, he took a trip to the human world with Yubelluna and met Raynare, Kalawarna, and Asia, who were still there. He introduced Yubelluna to them and arranged for her to settle there before returning.
He used the Void Pearl to teleport back to his house, mostly just to try it out, and the effect lived up to its description. The teleportation was instantaneous. Too bad it came with a cooldown; otherwise, it would have been as good as Goku's Instant Transmission and usable in battles.
Still, Yusuke was extremely satisfied with the Void Pearl. A one-minute cooldown was not long for a cooldown either, and the speed of the teleportation made it vastly more useful than typical teleportation magic. Not to mention that it did not consume any energy at all and completely disregarded distance and barriers.
"Yusuke-sama." Upon returning, he met the young Millicas. The boy was followed by a maid, and he politely greeted Yusuke.
"Oh, Millicas, are you going out?" Yusuke walked over, bent slightly, and patted his head. "You can just call me Yusuke, or if you want, you can call me uncle or even onii san." He really liked this kid. He was well-mannered and surprisingly mature for his age.
If things did not go south, he would probably marry Rias and the other girls as well. In that case, it would not be wrong for Millicas to call him uncle if he married his aunt.
"Really? Then I'll call you Yusuke-nii," Millicas beamed with happiness. It seemed that he usually did not get many chances to talk with people close to his age other than the servants. "Yusuke-nii, I heard you fought the Vanishing Dragon. Is that true?"
The battle incident where Kokabiel attacked Kuoh Town rippled through the underworld, and the moment when Yusuke stopped Vali from interfering became known to many. Rias, who reported the incident, exaggerated the event by claiming that he fought Vali and defeated him.
In truth, the two never had a true fight.
"Vanishing Dragon? Ah, you mean that white silver boy?" Yusuke paused for a moment before answering. "You cannot really call it a fight. He left midway."
"Whoa! You actually forced the Vanishing Dragon to escape. I heard from my father that the current Vanishing Dragon is the strongest in history!" Millicas's eyes brightened as he stared at Yusuke with pure admiration, as if he were looking at his idol. "Yusuke-nii, you are amazing!"
"Err… that's not it." Yusuke became speechless. Why was this kid misunderstanding him? He did not want others to overestimate him. Who knew if some battle-crazy guy would suddenly show up challenging him because of this?
He would rather hide his strength and be underestimated, like those main characters in his past life, so he can team yanderes in peace.
"I am not really that amazing. Your father is the amazing one," he said, shaking his head humbly.
Compared to Sirzechs, the strongest Devil, he was very weak. His goal was to one day become as strong as Sirzechs and not have to fear any crazy yandere in the world.
"Millicas!" Suddenly, Grayfia's cold voice interrupted their conversation. She arrived at her son with hurried steps and said in a reprimanding tone, "Do not bother Yusuke-sama. He is a busy man."
'No, I am not! And what's her deal?' Yusuke wanted to retort, but held back. He really did not want to deal with this woman. Especially after what Yubelluna had told him, he wanted to stay as far away as possible from all milfs. He was already worried about what Venelana had done last time.
He needed to check once more if Venelana was a yandere.
"Yes, mom!" Millicas quickly lowered his head and apologized. "Sorry, Yusuke-nii."
"You do not have to," Yusuke said, patting his head. "I enjoyed talking with you, Millicas. Let's play next time. I am still not familiar around here, so maybe you can give me a tour."
"Yes! I will gladly do it!" Millicas nodded enthusiastically. He felt that Yusuke was truly a great person. Being the son of Lucifer, he rarely had contact with anyone his age, aside from his aunt and her peerage. Yusuke was the closest person to his own age he had ever known.
"Then, I'll be counting on you," Yusuke said with a smile. As he was about to leave, he paused for a moment and spoke to Grayfia. "Please do not be too harsh on him. Millicas is such a well-mannered boy. I hope I can have a son as good as him in the future."
[...]
Yusuke had the illusion of hearing the system facepalm. What was wrong with her? Was it just his imagination?
"...That is kind of you, Yusuke-sama," Grayfia said, glancing at him expressionlessly for an extended moment before answering in a blank tone.
'I shouldn't have spoken to her in the first place,' Yusuke thought. He felt that this woman really disliked him. Shaking his head, he left. Now was not the time to deal with her, and honestly, he did not want to deal with her at all.
Watching Yusuke leave, Grayfia did her best to calm her beating heart. She glanced down at Millicas and patted his head. "You should try to get along with Yusuke-sama in the future."
"Yes, Mom," Millicas blinked at his mother's suggestion, but did not think much of it. He was happy that she had actually patted his head. The past few months had felt distant and cold, making him worry she had started disliking him. Now it seemed that was not the case.
'Yusuke, you are a wonderful person~! I am finding myself more and more in love with you!' Watching Yusuke's retreating back, Grayfia did her best to keep a straight face. Inside her heart, she screamed. 'I can't wait! I can't wait any longer! Yusuke, I want you!'
...
Yusuke did not return to his room, nor did he visit Akeno. Instead, after asking the maids about Rias's whereabouts, he headed straight to her room.
The main reason he had come to the Underworld was to discuss his relationship with Rias's family and to sort out his relationship with her. The second reason was to complete the quests of the Phenex girls. But now, everything had changed after he met Yubelluna.
Even before coming to the Underworld, he had a bad feeling that something was going to happen to him. It seemed the source of it was the yandere he had never met. Perhaps it could be another unknown yandere he had not encountered yet. After all, who knew how many people had been watching his fight with Riser?
Right now, he wanted to finish Rias's quest, which he had originally planned to leave for last to maximize the rewards. But that was no longer an option.
He needed to cash in those juicy levels.
[Reward: Two levels, 2 stat points, a random skill, a random item.]
In the past, he had already thought of a plan to raise the Submission value of both Rias and Koneko at the same time, and perhaps even Xenovia. But until now, he had not found a suitable opportunity.
Now that he was in the Underworld and had the Void Pearl, things had become simpler. However, before putting his plan into action, he wanted to give Rias another chance.
He had even given Murayama multiple chances before she became a Goudere. It was only natural to do the same with Rias.
Knock! Knock!
"Rias, are you there?" Yusuke called after knocking on the door twice as he reached her room.
Thud!
"Yusuke?!! Wait! A minute!" A startled cry suddenly came from behind the door, accompanied by the sound of something falling. After that, Yusuke heard the noise of items crashing, followed by thudding sounds and the scraping of heavy objects being dragged across the floor.
'What is she doing?' Yusuke wondered, his face completely blank.
Clack!
"Come in!" The door opened, and Rias stuck her head out. She spoke with a smile, though it looked slightly nervous, beads of sweat dripping from her forehead. Perhaps it was from nerves, or maybe from overexertion from pulling and pushing things so quickly.
'Or maybe she was practicing water jutsu, and I just ruined her fun,' Yusuke thought as he stepped inside.
Her room was surprisingly normal… well, normal for a yandere. In the middle of the extremely large room stood a massive canopy bed that dominated the space. However, Yusuke paid it no mind. He had a bed just as large in his own room.
What caught his attention were the massive shelves. Each of them displayed an enormous number of figures, some of anime characters he knew and others he did not.
There were two more shelves filled with manga and Blu-rays. The sheer size of her collection would put any hardcore otaku to shame.
This was perhaps just what she had in this room. Who knew what she kept back at her place in Kuoh Town?
'Is that Goku?' Yusuke noticed a figure among the collection. It was Goku in his Super Saiyan form, smiling and giving a thumbs up.
"Hmm… Yusuke, do you need something?" Rias spoke, standing next to him. Her eyes carefully studied his face. 'He didn't notice,' she sighed in relief. Earlier, she had stolen his boxers without the maids noticing and had been 'testing' them when he suddenly arrived.
She was nervous about being caught red-handed again. Last time she had taken something, she got scolded by Sona and Akeno.
"Do I need a reason to see you?" Yusuke glanced at her and smiled. In a casual and natural way, he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close. With their faces almost touching, he asked, "Or could it be that I am bothering you?"
'Ehh? So close! So close! Yusuke is right here! Am I dreaming?!' Rias's face immediately burned red, her eyes locked on his.
Even though the two of them had gone on dates in the past, kissed, and flirted multiple times, after the battle with Riser, their relationship had deteriorated, and Yusuke rarely even smiled at her. Being this close to him now felt so good, so sweet, and so sudden.
"N… no! I love you! I mean, I love it!" Rias stammered, shaking her head as she spoke.
[Rias Gremory's submission: 60 (Possessive)]
Yusuke pulled her onto the sofa and sat down, placing her on his lap. Glancing at the beautiful redhead in his arms, he said, "It's been a while since we've been together, just the two of us."
"Hmm," Rias murmured, hugging him back. Her hands caressed his sturdy, muscular back, pressing her face against his chest. 'This feeling… Gosh! I missed it so much!'
"You really like Japanese culture, don't you?" Yusuke stayed silent for a moment before speaking. Pointing at the large shelves of manga, he asked, "Did you read all of them?"
"Of course!" Rias became excited at the mention of her favorite hobby. "I've read every single one of them!"
'Seriously?! How much time would that take?' Yusuke thought. He used to read some manga and watch anime himself, but staring at the shelves, he felt a flicker of admiration for Rias. If it were him, it would take years to finish reading all of this, not to mention watching the anime adaptations and playing the game versions.
"Which manga are you into right now?" Feeling curious about her interests, he asked.
"Mirai Nikki and Happy Sugar Life! I like pink-haired girls!" Rias said, pointing at the large figurines of two beautiful girls standing next to each other.
"…" Yusuke.
[…What else did you expect? Jojo?]
