The first rays of dawn stretched over the jagged desert horizon, casting a pale light on the cracked earth and shattered glass of the ruined dome. Inside their hidden camp, tension hung thick like the morning fog.
Ava stood before the makeshift map spread across the table—a detailed schematic of Winterglass's central facility, lines and symbols etched in painstaking precision. Around her, Noah, Luca, and Sable leaned in, eyes sharp and minds racing.
"We'll infiltrate through the east wing," Sable whispered, pointing to a narrow, lightly guarded service tunnel. "Security is tight elsewhere, but this is their blind spot."
Noah tightened his grip on his weapon, his jaw clenched with resolve. "Once inside, we grab the data core and get out before they know we're there."
Luca tapped his tablet, fingers flying. "I've hacked into their internal comms — we'll have a small window when the system goes into maintenance mode. That's when we move."
Ava's hands glowed faintly, a comforting warmth amidst the cold steel of the mission ahead. "No mistakes. This is our one shot."
The air was electric with anticipation. Outside, the desert wind whispered secrets of danger and defiance.
As they packed their gear—stealth suits, weapons, hacking tools—Ava's mind raced with memories of pain and hope, fear and courage. Every step forward was a step toward freedom.
The sun climbed higher, bathing the ruins in harsh light, but inside their hearts burned a fire that no daylight could dim.
Tonight, they would walk into the lion's den.
