After class, Class A2 were all sent outside to meet with Lady Nova, as she would be in charge of their ability check. Meanwhile, Lady Asher Morgan was in class, going through her students' profiles.
The group of students gathered around the school's pitch, already forming a gist gang before Lady Nova would arrive.
"Class A2 isn't really the best spot to look around. I mean, no class is the best spot to look around, if you're really looking for compatible heroines to bind with—"
Boom.
Ray pointed at Lady Nova, who had landed on the field with purple flames encasing her body. Her entrance pose caused a lot of wind to blow around.
"I said bind with heroines, not those in training," said Ray.
Aiden already had that in mind. Without saying anything, they began walking toward the gathering crowd. Up close, Nova's blue suit was like a second skin, fitting her body tightly.
Her boobs and shape could be traced like this. She also had a gadget belt on. Those were the only things Aiden was looking at, even though she was introducing people.
"Okay, guys, who wants to be the first to show their ability?" Accompanying her words, most of the classroom raised their hands like children.
"Hmm... okay, how about you there?" said Lady Nova. A girl jovially came out and stood far from the crowd.
"Well, my name is Eva, and I can alter gravity—make things float." As she said that, she made her classmates float, and then, with her hands coming down, "And down," she smirked.
Bam.
Kweuk.
The students were slammed against the ground by an unknown force pressing them hard against it, but Aiden was trying to resist.
He had a knee and a palm down while looking at the girl grin, as if she was enjoying it. When she noticed Aiden was unaffected, she decided to add another layer of pressure—until she was stopped.
"That's enough," said Lady Nova. As Eva walked back to the group, everyone gave her space, not wanting to interact with her anymore.
"The girl is a psychopath," a boy murmured.
"Dude, what's her deal? She tryna kill us or what?" said Ray, curving his eyes to look at her without her knowing.
"You have blood on your nose," said Aiden.
"Shit, she nearly killed me. Like she was focusing on me the entire time."
The moment Ray said that, Aiden realized Ray wasn't the target—it was actually Aiden. And Ray got affected that much because he was close to Aiden.
"You know where she's from?" asked Aiden.
"No, man, she's also a transfer student—but a week before you," said Ray, trying to clean the bloodstains before he was called. "My turn, man. Wish me luck."
"Good luck, I guess," said Aiden, smiling a bit.
"Thanks, ma fella... lol." Ray high-fived Aiden and proceeded to walk in front of the class to introduce himself and his ability.
Unlike Aiden, Ray didn't seem like someone to have stage fright. He confronted the class, introducing himself and his telepathic abilities.
When asked to display it, Ray just picked a subject from the class. "So my telepathic powers allow me access to your mind, and your mind controls your body, so..." As Ray said that, the boy he picked out collapsed to the ground as if dead.
"I can shut down your mind for some time and bring you back online." After that, the boy stood, frightened by the sight of Ray, while others clapped for him and saw it as very impressive as he went back to the crowd.
"Still think I ain't compatible for your binding thing?" Ray teased.
"Not even if I was drunk. I'm not into men. Ask me that again and you won't like... Now get the fuck out of my head," said Aiden. "Before I kill you in it."
Ray's heart jumped. He didn't think Aiden could be this harsh with words, or that Aiden would be able to detect him swimming in his mind, trying to look into Aiden's past memories.
He couldn't do any of that before Aiden was called outside by Lady Nova. Ray was just staring at him. "Just who the hell is that guy? How did he kick me out of his mind?"
Aiden stood, looking at the crowd. His palm was already sweaty. He hadn't done anything, but he was looking for breathing space.
"Are you okay?" asked Lady Nova.
"Bro is having stage fright again... hahaha," said a boy with red hair—powers of the solar system. Just the sun, though.
But he was the only one who laughed at his own jokes. Others didn't see having stage fright as something funny, which was how Aiden got hold of himself.
"I'm Aiden... and my ability is called Fucker," said Aiden.
Having heard that, everyone was momentarily stunned, confused—like Aiden had just placed them on a bus of confusion. Except Ray, who was subtly laughing behind.
"What do you mean, Aiden?" Lady Nova asked.
"I fuck heroines and bind with them to use their abilities at the highest, while they get stronger as well. It's basically binding with heroines," Aiden explained, having the whole class quiet.
"Bwahahaha... Man, what were you planning? To demonstrate your ability? Hahaha!" The red-haired cracked a joke again and laughed at it himself.
Lady Nova had to bring back the class's focus and quickly asked Aiden to step back into the line, and she registered Aiden's ability as null.
"Man, I just saw through her mind and you're registered as a null hero. Probably the next Batman or Green Arrow," said Ray.
Meaning he possessed nothing. Through the rest of the ability test, Aiden became the center of attention. Saying something like that was definitely bound to get him fame.
"Alright, that's all," said Lady Nova. "I'll drop your reports to the academy head and you can all go home." Having said that, Lady Nova briefly looked at Aiden before her body was encased with purple aura and she blasted off into the sky.
"Something tells me she'll be back," said Ray.
"Uh? What do you mean?" Aiden curiously asked, still gluing his eyes to Nova's flight path.
"I went through her past, and she's in competition with her junior sister. Also, there has been a lot of debate about who's stronger," Ray backed up his theory by showing Aiden the internet debate.
"If she really wants to surpass her sister, something tells me she'd come back to test your theory. Oh... and her powers are top class."
With that, Aiden and Ray began walking behind their classmates, making their way home.
