Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Did My Sister Get on a Ghost Bus? Does the "Final Destination" Setting Really Exist?

In the real world, there was no one beside the seat. In the eerie world, however, the system prompted that a ghostly girl was eyeing him. And "judging by her appearance", she might even be a schoolgirl. This inevitably made Chen Luren feel a strange sensation in his heart.

This feeling was somewhat similar to his childhood. For example, he dared not turn off the lights while sleeping—once the lights were off, he always felt that there were "ghosts" behind him, under the bed, or in the corner. Or every time he was woken up by the urge to urinate in the middle of the night, he dared not go to the bathroom alone and had to wake up his parents. But this sense of fear gradually faded as he grew older.

Until now... After sitting next to the ghostly schoolgirl, it was as if he had rediscovered his childhood memories, and that strange fear actually resurfaced.

"Could this also be related to the mind?" Chen Luren pondered, suddenly recalling some mysterious stories he had heard. When a baby is born, its soul is pure and can see ghosts and demons wandering in the human world. As one grows older, these supernatural beings gradually fade, until one loses even the slightest sense of them.

At first, Chen Luren thought this was because people gain a deeper understanding of the world, adapt to it, and become bolder as they grow up. But now it seemed otherwise. This made him think of the initial state on his personal information template: Mind covered in dust.... It seemed that when a baby is born, its mental state is already "illuminated", only to become "dusty" later due to worldly pollution. Now, wiping the dust from his mind might mean transforming back to a "baby-like" state—first sensing the eerie, then seeing the supernatural. This made his intuition plausible.

Before he knew it, as Chen Luren thought, the ghost bus had driven near Xiangyang Bridge. The bridge ahead was in clear view. The daytime car accident had been cleared for traffic after a full day of rescue and repairs. The Xiangyang Bridge Road stop was set up less than twenty meters from the bridgehead. The ghost bus slowly pulled over and stopped at the station.

This was Chen Luren's destination, so he immediately got up and got off when the bus stopped and the door opened. Of course, the moment he left his seat, he consciously made space—subconsciously avoiding contact with the ghostly schoolgirl.

[Through the window, you see at least forty or fifty eerie beings waiting at the stop.][The clever you links them to the daytime accident—most are likely the deceased souls.][Thus... you, well-versed in the art of survival, seize the open door to escape the ghost bus.][Survival experience +60...][You watch from the platform as each eerie being boards the bus. Their blank expressions reveal reluctance and nostalgia.][As the last one gets on and the door closes... you suddenly spot a familiar figure on the bus.][It's not the ghostly schoolgirl who made you feel strange... but your sister.][She stands by the window where you sat, staring blankly ahead.]

[At this moment... you panic and try to board again, but the ghost bus has already driven away and vanished from sight.]

The endless stream of whispered messages in Chen Luren's ears carried too much information. Even after the real bus had disappeared, he remained stunned. A full minute passed before he gasped.

"What does this mean? Why is my sister on that ghost bus?"

"This can't be... absolutely impossible."

Chen Luren, tense-faced, tried to sense his surroundings with his mental power.
