Chapter 6 - The Vulcans-2

By the time Harry and the middle-aged man came down, the feast had already started. Because of what he saw up there, Harry was in no mood to mingle. So he took a leaf, grabbed some of the meat from the communal table, and sat down in the corner.

He didnt know what meat he was eating, but it was really good. It is only after he had grabbed his fifth serving of the day, which earned him odd looks from the people of his tribe, that he suspected that something was wrong with him. As a growing person, he surely needs more nutrients. But there was no way that he could be this hungry.

After getting his sixth serving, he sat down in the darkest corner of the tribe, away from prying eyes.

With a mental command, he x-rayed his own body, trying to understand what was going on with him.

X-raying himself was a very tedious process because to get a clear picture, one had to bend forward. Luckily, this body was very bendy. It took him some effort to get the X-ray, and the results shocked him.

He saw concentrations of energy forming in his body. Not in one, but two places.

His scans showed an organ adjacent to the heart, which has some concentration of Vita. Then there was this small cluster located somewhere around his intestines, behind his belly button. The amount of Vita he scanned seemed minuscule compared to the other adults that he had encountered, but still, there was Vita in him nonetheless.

Imka told me that the Vita could only manifest after getting the Lord's scripture. That is the case with everyone. Then what is happening to me? He thought. A part of him suspected that Imka's words might not be accurate. But he would have to investigate the matter.

But this was a very serious situation for him. He was deviating from the beliefs of Vulcans. Now, whether this would bring him his destruction or triumph, that would have to be seen.

"Adui!" he looked to one of the adults of the tribe standing not too far away from him. The adult gestured for him to follow, "Come.. Chief is calling for you."

Curious what the man wanted now, Harry followed the man.

When they came back to the feast, he saw that most of the food was gone. All the tribesmen were sitting around a fire, and it was the chief who standing at the fire, engaging everyone.

Harry came straight to the chief, after which the man addressed the tribemen, "And finally, the last order of the day.. Recently, it has come to my notice that Adui has some keen sight. Which would be beneficial for hunting in the plains. I hereby announce that he will be part of hunting parties from now on."

Harry didnt know what to think of the job, because as soon as it was announced, murmurs started amongst the tribesmen. A woman stood up and interjected, "Chief, my son is bigger and stronger than that boy. Why is he not given the same chance as the boy?"

Groga looked at the woman with anger, "Are you questioning my command?"

The woman didnt back down, "Yes. Why is it a boy who is not of age granted way into the hunting party? While more deserving candidates are left out to dry? He is not even a Vita Wielder." The murmurs started once again.

Harry didnt know what the big deal was.

He understood why Groga wanted him in a hunting party, but couldnt understand the woman's outburst. Why is she so concerned about this?

"ENOUGH!" Groga yelled, silencing everyone. "I have appointed Adui a place, because Lord Leh had recently provided the boy with a blessing, which could be helpful in hunts… That is the answer that all of you would get. Now, I dont have any discussion on the matter."

Groga then stared at the crowd before him, staring down anyone who had problems with this arrangement. Finally, when he saw that there was no fire of rebellion, he firmly said, "Dismiss."

All the tribesmen stood up from their respective spaces and started moving towards their houses. Some kids and adults came to Adui to congratulate him, while the rest showed hostility towards him.

Imka, along with a woman in her twenties, came to him. The woman had brown hair like his siblings. And it only took him a glance at the woman to realize that she was Adui's mother. "Congratulations, my boy!" Imka smiled at him while patting his back.

While the woman looked worried, she still said, "Congratulations, Adui. You have brought honor to our family," she said softly. He figured that this woman might be his new mother.

Harry just passed them a small, fake smile, " Thanks… Appa.. Can we talk in private?"

Imka looked at the woman and then at him. "Sure.. Come, we will talk at our house."

Harry shook his head. "No, I want to talk to you in private. Right now,"

His emphasis on right now finally makes Imka concerned, "Son.. Is everything alright?"

"Yes. Just need to talk to you," Harry said. The truth was, he wanted to fish out some information from the man. And for that, he got the perfect cover a few seconds ago

"Alright, let's go…" With that father and the son duo went to a quiet place, leaving behind a concerned and worried mother….
