Gasps erupted across the room. Even Avery's eyes widened for a second before she quickly masked it.
Alana stood frozen in place, her breath caught somewhere between anger and heartbreak. The humiliation hit her harder than Daniala's punch ever could.
Daniala folded her arms, satisfaction glinting in her eyes as she leaned slightly toward Avery. "Now that's what I call justice," she muttered under her breath, a victorious smirk playing on her lips.
Avery, however, didn't look pleased. She turned slightly toward Daniala, lowering her voice. "Did you really have to hit her?"
Daniala shrugged, not an ounce of regret visible. "She wouldn't shut up. And honestly? Someone had to remind her that not everyone's scared of her fake tears."
Avery sighed softly, rubbing her temple. She wanted to be angry at Daniala for escalating things but part of her couldn't deny that watching Alana crumble under her own arrogance was… satisfying.
