Chapter 9 - Haotian Academy

Haotian Academy is located in the north of the city, on a low earthen hill.

Eight hundred years ago, when a saint who was good at poetry and painting passed by Meicheng, he was so proud that he used willow branches as pens and plum dew as ink to draw small bridges, flowing water, towers and pavilions on Meishan Mountain.

From the condensation of the void to the reality, we have today's academy.

Throughout the dynasties, the principal of Haotian Academy has always been a highly respected and powerful person, and the teachers assigned to them are all elite figures without exception.

Therefore, over the past eight hundred years, the reputation of Haotian Academy has not diminished. Instead, it has become more and more famous in Kunpeng Continent, where spiritual energy is becoming increasingly scarce.

Today, the Haotian Academy is the third largest gathering place of spiritual energy in Shuzhou and one of the three highest institutions of learning in the Great Xia Dynasty.

It is not only a holy place in the hearts of countless students, but also a holy place in the hearts of countless young practitioners.

The threshold to enter the Haotian Academy is very high. Not everyone with money and power can get in. One must go through layers of selection and the most rigorous examinations.

The reason why the academy could accept a poor student like Chen Ke was purely because he was a native of Shuzhou and his family had made great contributions to Shuzhou.

As for the tuition fees paid by the Chen family, it is beyond the imagination of ordinary people.

But even so, Chen Ke was assigned to the "special class".

The word "special material" is used very cleverly. It can be understood as "special talent" or "special loser".

To put it bluntly, the special classes are a place where a group of powerful and wealthy children entertain themselves, and it has a strong sense of isolation.

When Chen Ke first entered the academy two years ago, he also had some ambitions.

As a result, he failed to get into the most popular martial arts academy because he had no talent for cultivation.

Without the talent for studying, you can't even get into a second-rate liberal arts college.

What was even more despairing was that at the age of twelve, he had no special skills at all and couldn't even get into the art academy.

Chen Ke could only enter the special class in dejection, and from then on began his dazzling and self-destructive student life.

Deep down, Chen Ke was actually quite gloomy, so when he stood at the foot of Meishan Mountain, he felt inexplicably timid.

On the hill, ancient buildings are hidden among plum trees and green willows, and are separated by winding bluestone paths, forming irregular blocks.

The largest one is the central square of the academy, and the three next to it are the Martial Arts Academy, the Literary Academy, and the Painting Academy.

The tiny bit at the very edge, almost reaching the outside, is where the special class courtyard is located.

  "Let's go."

Chen Ke sighed, patted the horse's head, and walked up the mountain along the bluestone path.

In front of the small gate in the backyard of the Special Materials Institute, Chen Ke handed the horse to Tie Niu and walked up the steps.

With a creak, the door opened and a tall figure walked out.

The middle-aged man was about forty years old, of medium build but very strong. His scholar's gown was bulging out, and when he had a stern face, he had a certain aura.

When Chen Ke saw who it was, he bowed hurriedly and said,

"Greetings to Manager Liu."

Manager's Court, as the name suggests, is the courtyard that manages the special classes, but it has much more power than the dormitory manager in his previous life.

Once, Chen Ke secretly brought a singer to sing a little song for everyone, but was caught red-handed by Liu Guanyuan.

Without saying a word, Guan Yuan grabbed the singer by the collar and threw her over the wall.

  Really threw it out!

When Guanyuan Liu saw that it was Chen Ke, his stern eyes softened a little: "Chen Ke, are your injuries better?"

"Thank you for your concern, Guanyuan. I can barely get out of bed. I haven't listened to the teachers' teachings for many days, and I always feel uncomfortable all over. So I couldn't wait to come here today."

Guanyuan Liu's mouth twitched. When the hell did you attend class? If you were not forced to compete with the little prodigy in reciting, would you have taken the initiative to come to the academy?

He made way and said in a serious voice,

"Go in quickly and don't forget to change into your school uniform."

Chen Ke nodded hurriedly and slipped in through the small door.

When he walked past Liu Guanyuan, he couldn't help but look at him a few more times.

Why does this face look so familiar, as if I had just seen it not long ago.

Seeing Chen Ke looking at him strangely, Guanyuan Liu suddenly grinned and put a finger on his lips.

Oh my god, a ten-meter-tall practicing giant!

Chen Ke stumbled along the garden path with his two paws almost stuffed into his mouth.

He could swear to heaven that the ten-foot-tall giant cultivator he saw on the city wall that day, the hot-tempered uncle who smashed the nine heads of the demon dragon with his fists, was definitely Liu Guanyuan!

It's incredible that such an awesome person is actually from my college.

Chen Ke swore that he would never put glue on the stool that Liu Guanyuan often sat on, and he couldn't wipe his nose on it either.

Also, he can no longer throw the bumblebees he raised into the toilet. By the way, the plan to burn the tail of Liu Guanyuan's pet dog must be cancelled.

Chen Ke's mind was in a mess, and he suddenly remembered that the sturdy woman who was floating in the sky and using a giant blade to plow a hundred-meter blood groove in the demon army seemed to be very similar to the beautiful gardener who usually trimmed flowers and plants?

How come the tall and thin scholar who was carrying two cannon barrels and killing a four-winged flying bear looks so much like Teacher Guo who teaches mathematics?

Oh my god, what kind of people are in Haotian Academy?

It's over, it's over. Will I be silenced if I know such a big secret?

Calm down, Chen Ke walked through the hanging flower gate and walked towards the dormitory in a daze.

The special materials class has a five-story courtyard, and the dozen or so side rooms are the dormitory area. There are only about thirty people in total, so most of them share a room with two people.

There were not many people around at the moment, so Chen Ke entered the room, opened his private wardrobe, took down the blue gown hanging there, and put it on as quickly as possible.

He looked at himself in front of the mirror, adjusted his hair, and then calmed down.

At the door of the room, a fat man leaned against the door frame, looking at Chen Ke playfully, and suddenly burst into laughter.

Chen Ke glanced at the fat man sideways and felt that the air in the room was not good.

The fat on the fat man's face was trembling, and he said leisurely:

"Yuqing has been waiting for you for a long time. Let's go, little prince in the bellyband!"

Puchi, puff!

The fat man covered his mouth and laughed with his front and back pouting. Chen Ke wished he could poke two more holes in this guy.

However, this was not possible, because there was a flying tiger embroidered on the fat boy's school uniform, which was the symbol of students from the martial arts academy.

Even the martial arts academy student with the worst qualifications has the strength of the fifth level of body refining.

There's no need to fight at all, they'll just sit on you and kill you.

Chen Ke walked out of the room angrily and headed out of the courtyard.

After crossing a small garden, four or five poor students from the special class came towards me.

When several people saw that it was Chen Ke, their eyes suddenly lit up and they immediately surrounded him.

One of them raised his thumb high: "Eunuch Chen, it's heroic that you even dare to challenge the little prodigy. I don't surrender to anyone but you!"

Another one winked and said:

"Eunuch Chen, I opened the odds the day before yesterday. We all bet on you to win. If you win, we will cover all your banquets for the whole year!"

"Yes, yes, Eunuch Chen, if you win, you can pick any of my embroiderers, cooks, and wet nurses!"

"Yes, you can pick any one you want. There are women of all ages available, and we will provide you with enough food and drinks!"

Chen Ke's face was as black as the bottom of a pot. Do these grandsons know how to speak human language?

Well, is there a handicap?

Chen Ke quickly took off the jade pendant from his waist and stuffed it into the hands of a sly-looking fellow:

"Hurry up and go to my bank to get 20,000 taels of silver, and bet on me to win it all!"
