[Rosie's POV]

I inched back slowly, trying not to trigger anything as I sought the counter's edge.

My voice was trapped as I wanted to shout but the sound stuck in my tight throat.

There's no aggression in his posture yet his intent radiates like a held breath.

I sensed calculations in his gaze like he'd planned this meeting.

He jumped down from the chair, crossed the baton over his neck, and then raised a brow at me.

"Stop making this hard, princess. I left some important documents aside just to attend to you, and what I get is your unwelcoming gesture?" He asked but I was quick to grab the frying pan which was adjacent to me.

I believe I'd use it for defense, as I pointed it at his face, but he only shoved it aside and pinned me to the door.

He runs his free thumb on my cheek and then lowers it down to my lips as he draws his lips closer to mine, but my hand, which had grabbed the doorknob, spurs the door open, so I run.
