Chapter 39 - Two Heroes, Shadows of Instinct

Right after that, Shoto acted quickly and used an ice shield to protect Eijiro from the tall villain's quirk, and then right after that created an ice pillar to raise us to the next floor.

"Go, we'll buy some time here." Shoto urged us, then explained the situation to Katsuki and Eijiro before they engaged the villains in battle.

And yeah, even though we were brought up, we were still stuck on this floor, since both sides were blocked by those fucking huge iron doors.

"What are we going to do?" Mineta started to panic. "We're like fish in a basket now..."

"Is this the only way we can get this far?" Kaminari was starting to feel hopeless too. "Ryuga, you're the smartest of us all. Is there any way to handle this?"

"Fast and efficient at the same time is impossible." I replied. "I don't know, this... I can't think of anything..."

And at this critical moment, Izuku, with his bright mind, noticed the trapdoor in the distance - which Melissa later explained was the entrance for the lighting system maintenance. Even though everyone was down after realizing that it could only be opened from the inside, Momo immediately used her Quirk to create a bomb, then threw it at the door and detonated it, making everyone cheer up again.

That is until they realized that the door was incredibly small, and that only Mineta could fit through it.

"Don't look at me like that????" Mineta started to look flustered as everyone realized that the only person who could fit inside was him.

"Please, Mineta-kun!" Ochako started to encourage him.

"Only you can do it!" Kyoka added as if to emphasize his importance.

"Are you guys crazy? What floor do you think it's on??" Minoru replied with a somewhat unwilling expression.

Welp, it's time to remind him of what I taught him.

"Mineta, self-worth." I repeated loudly and clearly. "Remember what I taught you before about how to be a gentleman."

"That's right, that's right!" Kaminari replied to me and started to add to his words. "You can steal the spotlight by helping these girls, you'll definitely have a harem of your own!"

He originally looked miserable beyond description, but after everyone's encouragement, especially Kyoka and Ochako, he immediately got his "manly demeanor" and without hesitation went inside - of course with the help of Uraraka's Quirk - then climbed out of the tower, climbed up, got back into the tower and lowered the fire escape for everyone.

Of course, after this important support, in addition to being encouraged by everyone - especially Melissa - and feeling elated, that guy seemed to look at me with admiration - perhaps because he didn't really appreciate what I taught him at first, so now his good impression has increased. And he was also the one who stirred up the atmosphere to become more positive and motivated, also because this would probably make him more valuable...

"What did you actually teach him?" Himiko asked, standing next to me, looking at Mineta with a puzzled expression.

"How not to be pathetic, darling. The price we had to pay for him to teach us the theory of our previous subjects."

...

Of course, according to the original movie's lore, all the doors from floors 100 to 130 were opened. Everyone noticed this abnormality, and of course we were even more certain that they were trying to get us in one place and capture us conveniently when we realized that the Lab on floor 130 was full of robots.

These robots were simple, they looked small and cute, and their fighting power wasn't enough to defeat any of us with just one. But dozens of them were different...

So clearing these creeps was a must, so first, plan A would be implemented.

It was very simple. Kaminari would go in, turn on his Ult to short-circuit all the robots and stop them from working, because yeah, robots, things like this would work, right?

Fuck, definitely not. It's not feasible, it's not effective, and it's not even remotely effective. The proof is that after he used his "Indiscriminate Shock 2 Million Volts" technique and was stunned like an idiot, those robots barely took any damage except for a little scratch on their shell, and then tied him up without any problems.

And when plan A failed, we moved on to plan B.

Momo created smoke bombs and threw them at them with everyone else to block the communication connection to the control room, followed by Mineta spamming sticky balls to make them unable to move and block them, giving us enough time to leave. But these damn robots weren't junk like "Made in China", they actually jumped - yep, they can fucking jump - to catch us. And it was thanks to Tenya and Izuku that they were able to be pushed back, from which Kaminari was able to be saved and the group was able to retreat safely after Kyoka finished scouting the situation and the path.

The new item Melissa had given him this afternoon, the Full Gauntlet, was OP as hell, enough for him to be able to land a 30% One For All without any problems. And yep, with this thing, one thing is for sure, those robots were nothing.

"Deku-kun, what's that thing in your hand? It's really cool." Ochako asked Izuku with excitement and surprise.

Yeah, if it was the original scenario, he would definitely turn to Melissa and say that this thing was really cool. It was fine, BUT ONLY IF the two of them had nothing but friendship. But Izuku and Ochako seemed to have something above that level, so it wasn't good at all if everything went exactly like the original. If I had to change it, I had to change it completely, so I had no choice but to "temporarily" distract the two with an urgent voice.

"There's no time. Hurry up!"

Hearing that, everyone focused on going up the upper floors to quickly reach the top of the tower as soon as possible.

Of course, this time Himiko didn't want me to carry her or carry her anymore, but instead she cut off the hem of her evening gown with her bayonet, then sprinted while pulling both Melissa and I to run at full speed.

...

On the 137th floor, before going up to the next floor, Jiro started using her Quirk to stick it straight into the wall and sense the sound to determine where those robots were.

"I hear the sound of the wheel motors below."

"What about above?" Izuku asked again to make sure.

"Nothing."

"Let's go..."

Right before everyone moved forward, I held my hand behind me to stop them from going any further and asked again to make sure.

"Jiro, exactly where can you hear those robots?"

"Ahead, 45 degrees down." Kyoka replied to me with a puzzled expression.

"Melissa, could you please show us another way?" I asked Melissa in a hurry. "I feel like this isn't quite right."

"What do you mean?" Melissa asked me back with a strangely confused look. "Is there something ahead?"

"My intuition has never been wrong. Just because we got here so smoothly doesn't mean that it's going to be easy. And there are many things that only I can see." I said while pointing at my eyes as a way to implicitly confirm that I have the ability to see the future.

Of course, the rest of us definitely didn't agree with me and wanted to continue on because this was too ridiculous and bullshit, but that was until Ida suddenly went along with my idea which surprised even me.

"Everyone, just listen to Onodera. He... never lies at times like this. Trust him."

Following Izuku's nod, everyone began to listen to me and together with Melissa quickly made their way to the 138th floor to reach the power generation area outside the building.

I knew that the robots downstairs would be sent up, making the number several times larger. So at all costs, I needed to find a way to get into the research equipment storage room upstairs as quickly as possible.

In case my combat range was short, I had brought along a few dozen wax-coated nitroglycerin balls and one wax-coated KCN powder ball, along with a tactical slingshot that was adjusted to shoot 250 meters or less. I always had to keep these things on me, even if there was a risk of being blown to pieces or poisoned to death, I still had to keep them, because this thing would play an extremely important role later on.

"This is..." Izuku asked Melissa as he looked around the place.

"This is the wind power generation system." Melissa replied. "This place is the power source for the entire tower, like the heart."

"Is this really safer?" Momo asked Melissa. "I don't feel like this place is very safe."

"If we take the original tower route, the chance of encountering security robots will be higher." She replied. "So we can only go to the rooftop by passing through this place, if we can reach the emergency exit up there."

"Encounters are inevitable. Prepare yourselves, everyone." I emphasized. "Melissa, is there any way to get up there?"

"If we can use Ochako-san's Quirk, we can do it... But..."

Seeing Melissa's hesitation, Ochako immediately understood what the problem was, and immediately replied as if to confirm.

"There's no problem. Just leave it to me. Melissa-san, please hold on to Deku-kun."

Hearing that, Melissa felt much more at ease, and then let Izuku carry her so Ochako could use her Quirk to lift both of them up high.

And now that the whole group was up here instead of just her, the fight would definitely be a little easier.

"Darling, stand behind me." I reminded Himiko to hold her position while I prepared to fire the first shot.

"You're being too selfish, Ryuu-kun." Himiko replied to me with a bit of anger. "You'd better fight with everyone."

"I refuse." I replied, then fired a wax-coated nitroglycerin ball straight at the robots right after the door opened, creating a huge explosion that temporarily blocked the robots from entering for a moment. "It's more fun fighting with you."
