Chapter 57 - Chapter 57

If the goal was simply to win, just eliminating the opponent quickly would suffice. But Xu Yuan found that too dull—far too easy, in fact. He wanted to make things more interesting, more challenging.

Inspired by the movie *Chainsaw*, he decided to design some mechanisms—traps and puzzles—that, if cracked, would allow him to escape. If not, the trap would deliver a deadly consequence. The thought of setting up such intricate devices made him feel a rush of excitement.

If he could pull it off, it would add a whole new layer of fun to the game. But before executing his plan, Xu Yuan knew he needed some careful preparation.

The moment he entered the map, he began scouring for resources, gathering materials strategically.

The watching players were captivated—everyone eager to see how Xu Yuan would turn the tide against his opponent. They cheered internally, hoping he'd master new tricks, not just pile up resources or dig pits as usual.

Meanwhile, the members of the Dragon Teng Guild also sprang into action. This was their final challenge, and losing now would put them at a severe disadvantage.

Moteng, a top-tier player from Dragon Teng known for his quick reflexes and adaptability, immediately mimicked Xu Yuan's initial search for ore.

Luck was on his side—after only a few steps, he discovered a natural mine cave. After crafting a stone pickaxe and sword, he quickly moved in.

He first mined coal to craft torches, then delved deeper into the mine. His sharp eye caught sight of iron ore. Just as he was about to mine it, two zombies lurching nearby charged toward him.

Without panic, Moteng swiftly blocked the path, exposing only their feet. With precise timing, he launched a counterattack, swiftly dispatching the zombies.

The players watching were excited—Moteng's reaction speed and decision-making impressed them. In the treacherous mine terrain, many would have panicked or hesitated, but Moteng remained cool and composed.

"Looks like Moteng can give Steve a run for his money," someone muttered.

"The Dragon Teng Guild is learning fast—this time they're mining to craft buckets, just like Steve did."

"But I think Steve has already anticipated this. Since he showed us how to land water, I doubt he'll do the same again. Whatever move he makes next, I want to see it be even more exciting!!!"

The Dragon Teng players also felt a flicker of hope seeing Moteng's competence. They still believed there was a chance to turn the tide.

After dealing with the zombies, Moteng continued mining and lucked out—finding six veins of ore in a row. He crafted a furnace, smelted the iron ore, and used three ingots to craft an iron barrel.

Spotting a water source nearby, he quickly filled his bucket, feeling more confident with a water supply for self-defense.

Next, his plan was to set a trap—attract monsters into a sealed space, then block their escape. If Steve tried to run, he'd have to dig out the surrounding area, exposing himself to monsters lurking in the dark.

Thinking this through, Moteng crafted an iron shield for protection against mobs like Skeleton and other mobs. He then identified a spot he could quickly close off, prepared the area for a monster trap, and began luring monsters over.

Soon, he attracted four zombies and a creeper. Since Skeleton was long-range and hard to lead, he decided to leave him aside.

Circling with the monsters, Moteng waited patiently—timing his move for maximum effect. When the countdown hit 10 seconds, he led the creatures into the enclosed space.

The trap sealed instantly. During this process, Moteng was attacked—his health dropped to just 7 hearts—but he kept his distance, avoiding the creeper's explosion.

Watching from the sidelines, everyone held their breath—could Xu Yuan survive this onslaught?

"Damn, Moteng's ruthless—he's got all these monsters trapping Steve. If one of them manages to land a hit, Steve might be done for," someone muttered.

"Yeah, and with Skeleton still out there, Steve's odds seem slim. If he switches out, he might just blow up," another added eagerly.

Everyone was eager to see how Xu Yuan would respond—whether he'd find a way out of this deadly trap.

The countdown displayed:

[V ]

..

[IV]

[III]

..

[II]

[I]

The tension was palpable as the timer ticked down, marking the moment of truth.
