Adam summoned Caiden to his office, his expression carved in stone. He didn't waste time with pleasantries.

"Are you sure?" His voice was low, taut with an edge of urgency.

Caiden, ever composed, gave a single nod. "Yes, sir. Mrs. Ravenstrong did not leave the house yesterday. Her father visited her, and they spent the afternoon together. Nothing unusual, nothing suspicious."

Adam leaned back in his chair, his jaw tightening even as a fraction of the tension left his shoulders. "Good. Make sure to double the security, Caiden. I don't care how quiet things look—I don't want anyone near her."

"Of course, Mr. Ravenstrong." Caiden's tone carried the weight of a promise, his posture firm. "Nothing will happen to her. You have my word."

Adam's gaze lingered for a moment, the storm in his eyes softening only slightly. "I can't lose her. Not now. Not ever."

Caiden inclined his head, the faintest flicker of understanding in his eyes, before excusing himself.
