"You don't have to drive me, Adam," Sofia said after breakfast, setting down her coffee cup. Sunlight streamed through the dining room windows, catching the highlights in her hair and the faint flush in her cheeks. She tried to sound casual, but there was a flutter low in her stomach at the sight of him leaning against the doorframe, tie loose, sleeves rolled, a little too handsome for her peace of mind.
Adam's gaze lingered on her as if she were the only thing in the room. "I want to," he said, his voice rich with quiet authority. "Besides..." He crossed the room, his hand brushing hers as he reached for her plate, the touch deliberate, claiming. "I want every employee of Raymond's to see you arrive with me. To know you're mine."
Sofia's lips curved despite herself. "Possessive much?" she teased, tilting her head. "I'm Sofia Everhart-Ravenstrong. I'm pretty sure they already know you're my hot husband." Her laugh bubbled out, soft and disbelieving, but also touched with affection.
