Chapter 30 - Chapter 13: “A Suspicious Slip of the Tongue… and So Much More”

Kael's POV:

The firelight flickered low across the walls of my private chamber. Its golden tongues painting your skin in molten shadows. You were beneath me, pliant and breathless, still dazed from the storm I'd unleashed upon you just moments prior.

But I wasn't done. Not even close.

My lips dragged lazily down your throat, tasting salt and skin and something that felt like victory. Your fingers twitched on the silk sheets, your legs shifting unconsciously, like they hadn't remembered how to work after the things I'd done to them.

And yet my mind wasn't quiet because of what you said.

"My system gave me a mission…"

That voice. So sweet. So unaware. You hadn't even realized the weight of the words you'd handed me.

Like a dagger wrapped in silk. Like a truth whispered mid-moan.

A system?

You're really not from here, are you?

I gritted my teeth, inhaling against your throat as my hand slid down your side, possessive, deliberate. You arched up under me, a sound falling from your lips that made me curse under my breath.

You truly had no idea what you'd done.

And gods help me… I didn't want to hurt you. But I needed to know.

I kissed your shoulder softly. "You're trembling."

You nodded faintly, eyes barely open. "Y-You didn't hold back…"

I chuckled. "Didn't I?"

My hand moved again. This time to tease and to coax.

You gasped. Beautiful, wrecked sound. And as your back arched, I lowered my lips to your ear.

"Tell me, my lovely…" I murmured, voice a rumble against your flushed skin. "What did you mean by system?"

You stiffened.

Interesting.

You tried to turn your head, to avoid my eyes, but I caught your chin gently and guided your gaze back to mine. Your pupils were wide, dazed and still reeling from my touch.

"Was that… just nonsense?" I whispered, lips brushing your temple. "Or…"

My mouth dipped to your collarbone. "…was it a confession?"

"I-It was nothing," you tried to say. "I didn't mean to–"

I pressed a kiss to your lips. Soft. Lingering as if a reward. And then I deepened it.

Your hands fluttered uselessly at my shoulders, trying to push, trying to pull- uncertain. And I took my time tasting your lips, tasting the lie you'd just told.

When I pulled back, your chest was heaving. "You're lying to me," I said.

"And I don't like lies, sweetheart."

You swallowed, and I watched the motion like a hawk.

"You're not from here, are you?"

Your lips parted, but no sound came out. I moved lower again. You gasped.

"Kael—!"

That was the first time you'd ever screamed my name like that. And gods, it made me harder.

"I'll ask you again," I said, licking the sweat from your throat as you trembled. "What… is your system?"

You shook your head, but your voice was all breath, all flutter. "I can't tell you-..It's not allowed– !"

I smirked against your skin. "Then I'll just have to persuade you."

My fingers slid down.

I dragged your body back up the cliff of desire you'd only just tumbled from. You clutched at the sheets, your whimpers music to my ears. Every moan, every gasp– it was all mine.

And when your mouth fell open again, I was ready to catch every last word you didn't mean to say.

And maybe, just maybe…

I'd let you think you still had secrets left to keep.

I didn't need to tie your wrists again. You were already pliant.

Your limbs limp, your chest rising and falling with every ragged breath. Your body was mine, and I was going to savor every second of it.

But tonight? Tonight wasn't about pleasure. Not only.

Tonight, I wanted answers.

Your slip about the "system" wasn't forgotten. It was burned into my thoughts.

And I planned to fuck the truth out of you. Quite literally.

I shifted, flipping you gently onto your stomach. You gasped at the sudden movement, muffled by the pillows, and I leaned down to kiss the nape of your neck.

"Such a dangerous little thing you are," I whispered against your skin, my voice rough with heat. "Coming into my world with your secrets... your lies…"

Your legs trembled as I slid a hand between them, caressing with featherlight brushes, careful not to give you exactly what you needed.

You whined. I smiled.

"Let's try something..." I murmured.

I hooked my arms beneath your waist, lifting your hips upward, your upper body still pressing into the soft mattress. You instinctively braced yourself. Spreading so beautifully it made my breath hitch.

"Tell me what the system is, and I'll reward you."

You said nothing.

I thrust into you without warning.

You screamed.

I groaned into your shoulder, holding you steady. Your entire body shook beneath me, and I could feel every delicious tremble. I leaned over, biting down gently where your neck met your shoulder.

"Still want to be stubborn?" I breathed against your skin. "Do you want me to break you into the truth?"

"I-I can't–!" you sobbed, not from pain, but from overwhelming sensation.

I pulled back, dragging slow, torturous inches until only the tip remained, then slammed back in.

"Tell. Me. Everything."

Each word was punctuated with a thrust so deep you nearly forgot how to speak.

"I-It's… I-It's not part of this world…" you finally gasped, your head buried in the sheets.

I could see how red your skin had become. It's so enticing. Makes me want to take a bite.

"I… it sent me here…"

That was enough to make my eyes widen. Bingo.

But I wasn't done.

I reached down and tugged you into a new position. Rolling onto my side and dragging you with me until you were flush against my chest, one leg slung over my hip.

I slid back into you with one smooth motion, wrapping an arm around your throat but not to choke, but to hold. To control.

You gasped. Nails digging into my forearm, your body twitching around me.

I kissed your ear. "Now… finish the story."

Tears threatened the corners of your eyes. Not from pain, but from overstimulation. I was relentless, dragging you closer and closer to the edge, never letting you fall unless you told me more.

"Y-You wouldn't believe me," you whimpered. "I don't belong here, Kael. I'm not… I'm not from this world…"

My lips curved into a feral smile. "I know."

You stiffened.

"W-What?"

I thrust again, slowly. Deeply. "You talk in your sleep, sweetheart. Do you think I'd bed a mystery without peeling away every layer of you, one moan at a time?"

You trembled.

"And I will learn everything, Auren," I whispered, licking the shell of your ear.

"But for tonight… I'll be satisfied knowing you're real. That you're here. That your body knows only mine."

I pulled you into a savage rhythm, lost in your heat and gasps and helpless writhing.

Tomorrow, I'd ask more.

But tonight…

Tonight, I'd own every breath you took.
