Chapter 8 - Shin Mourning

The days that followed were a blur of funeral preparations, condolence visits, and tears. Shin went through the motions, but her heart felt heavy, weighed down by the loss of her dear friend.

Violet was a rock for her, supporting her through the darkest moments. But even he couldn't shield her from the pain of losing someone so dear.

As the funeral procession made its way to the gravesite, Shin felt a sense of numbness wash over her. She couldn't believe that Red was really gone, that she would never see her bright smile or hear her infectious laugh again.

The graveside service was a blur of tears and eulogies. Shin voice trembled as she spoke about Red's kindness, her generosity, and her unwavering optimism.

As the coffin was lowered into the ground, Shin felt a piece of her heart break off. She knew that she would never be the same again, that a part of her had been buried with Red.

Violet's arms wrapped around her, holding her close as she wept. "I'll be here for you," he whispered. "We'll get through this together."

But as they stood there, surrounded by friends and family, Shin couldn't shake the feeling that she was alone in her grief. That she was the only one who truly understood the depth of her loss.

As the mourners began to disperse, Shin felt a sense of emptiness wash over her. She knew that she would have to find a way to heal, to learn to live without Red by her side. But for now, the pain was too much to bear.

Violet's hand found hers, and he gave it a gentle squeeze. "We'll face this together," he whispered. "One step at a time."

As the days turned into weeks, Shin struggled to come to terms with her loss. She went through the motions of her daily routine, but everything felt empty and meaningless without Red by her side.

Violet was a constant presence in her life, supporting her and trying to help her heal. But despite his efforts, Shin couldn't shake the feeling of emptiness that had settled inside her.

One day, while wandering through the forest, Shin stumbled upon a small notebook that belonged to Red. As she flipped through the pages, she saw notes and sketches that brought back memories of her friend.

Tears streaming down her face, Shin sat down on a nearby rock, holding the notebook close to her heart. She felt a sense of connection to Red, a sense that she was still with her in spirit.
