Chapter 79 - THE MOMENT I WAS WAITING FOR

Justin's POV

After we had our dinner, we came into our bedroom to rest.The only sound in our bedroom was the soft whisper of the ceiling fan and the frantic drum of my own heart. It was a rhythm that had been beating for this moment for months ,through hospital vigils and silent prayers, through a recovery that felt both miraculously fast and agonizingly slow.

 Two months ago, who would have thought that we would be lieing down on the same bed with me embracing her. I hated being around women but Elena was an exception and thank God I didn't regret it . She was My wife.

Elena lay on her side, watching me. The moonlight caught the silver in her eyes, making them look like deep pools. She wasn't pretending to sleep tonight. There was a new quietness to her, a deliberate stillness that had nothing to do with weakness and everything to do with anticipation. She was waiting. She had been waiting for me.
