Chapter 40 - Ch-40 “The Fall of the couple Dragons”

The dragons retaliated with torrents of scorching fire breath, reducing the mountain to molten rubble mid-air. But Isabela was already on the move.

In a blur of motion, she shot through the gaps between the searing flames, the heat licking at her skin but unable to touch her as she wove through the inferno with flawless control. The ground trembled beneath the dragons' every step, the very earth cracking under their immense weight.

Isabela focused her gaze on the male dragon — slightly larger than its counterpart, with jagged horns and crimson scales that shimmered in the firelight. With a flick of her wrist and the force of her Spiritual Telekinesis, she launched herself toward the beast's exposed throat.

In one swift, precise motion, she unsheathed her sword, its blade gleaming with condensed spiritual energy. The weapon struck deep into the dragon's neck, slicing through thick scales and dense muscle. A deafening roar erupted from the creature as it staggered back, blood gushing like a crimson waterfall.

Isabela didn't stop. As she flipped through the air to evade a retaliatory swipe of the dragon's massive claw, she activated her Spiritual Force Boost, enhancing her physical attributes to near-inhuman levels. Her body shimmered with a faint aura as she reached 70% the speed of light in a sudden burst, leaving behind a sonic boom that cracked through the battlefield.

In that instant, she appeared beside the male dragon's neck once more, her sword raised high. Channeling every ounce of strength into her blade, she brought it down with devastating force — the edge cleaving clean through bone and sinew. The dragon's head toppled to the ground with a thunderous crash, the earth shaking from the impact.

The female dragon shrieked in rage, its eyes burning with grief and fury. Without hesitation, it unleashed a massive wave of fire breath, lighting up the night sky and engulfing the battlefield in flames.

Isabela, unfazed, raced through the torrent of flames. The intense heat distorted the air around her, but her spiritual aura shielded her from the worst of it. The dragon's neck whipped wildly, trying to track her movements.

Seizing the opening, Isabela gathered her Spiritual Force into her sword once more. The weapon radiated a brilliant light, humming with raw power. She darted in and, with a single, flawless slash, severed the female dragon's neck in one clean strike.

Blood erupted into the sky as the dragon's lifeless body crashed to the ground beside its fallen mate. The battlefield fell into a heavy silence, save for the crackling of dying flames and the distant murmurs of awestruck soldiers.

Isabela stood amidst the destruction, her expression calm and unreadable. She turned without a word and began walking back toward the kingdom, the bloodstained sword resting casually in her hand. The soldiers lining the walls and watchtowers dared not speak. They simply bowed their heads in silent reverence.

As she passed, squads of soldiers rushed forward to secure the dragons' massive bodies, preparing to haul them into the city. The sight of the fallen beasts — once thought untouchable — filled the hearts of South Ryehem's warriors with renewed hope.

The battle was over. But the war was far from done.
