Alex Ray's face brimmed with excitement—and rightfully so. This lottery draw was absolutely insane.
Far beyond what he had anticipated.
The rewards were not only immensely useful to him, but also to the entire team of superheroes holding down Hell's Kitchen.
More importantly, this draw was unlike any of the ones before.
Previously, he'd pulled items from the Dead Sea of Fire or random relics from obscure comic universes. They were decent, sure, but ultimately had their limits.
But this time… he'd drawn from Runeterra.
And the ceiling of that world was insanely high.
Alex knew these characters. They were his childhood.
As he stared at the cards in his hand, memories flooded back—those late-night sessions in the internet café, gaming with his friends, laughing, cursing, bonding.
He used to main elegant, cunning champion. And seeing those familiar names now made his chest ache with nostalgia.
"Maybe I should ask Tony to develop this game," he mused aloud. "With his brainpower, it wouldn't be hard at all."
But the thought barely formed before Alex slapped himself across the face.
The sound echoed in the quiet room.
"Focus, idiot. The enemy's right around the corner and you're thinking about video games? No, no, no," he muttered, shaking his head vigorously to drive the daydream away.
After pulling himself together, his eyes fell once more on the unused lottery tokens. His brow furrowed. A deep internal conflict had begun.
Part of him wanted to keep going—chasing the streak, hoping for another ridiculous payoff.
But another part whispered doubt.
What if his luck had run dry?
What if the next draw was just junk?
It gnawed at him.
Finally, he exhaled slowly, shoulders squared.
"Screw it. Time to turn this bike into a motorcycle. System, spin the wheel."
The interface lit up once more.
The first two items made Alex want to hurl the device out the window.
"Congratulations! You've won a Peppa Pig figurine!"
"Congratulations! You've won a pair of Nohara Shinnosuke's underwear!"
Alex blinked.
He stared.
He groaned.
"I should've stopped. What the hell is this garbage!?"
But the third pull turned things around.
"Congratulations! You've won Senzu Beans."
"Congratulations! You've won Three Monkey Hairs."
"Congratulations! Thank you for your patronage."
"Congratulations! You've acquired template: Holy Lance Ranger - Lucian."
"Template acquired: Lava Monster - Malphite."
"You've obtained: Spiritual Time Cabin."
"Template acquired: Frieza."
Alex took a sharp breath as he stared at the ten-draw result.
This was solid. Not as many templates as last time, but overall? A hell of a haul.
He materialized the results of all twenty draws. In his hands now were nine champion templates, a bottle of magic beans, two pieces of gear, a time-warping training room, three monkey hairs, and… yeah, those two joke items he'd rather forget.
He examined the first two pieces of equipment carefully.
[Armor of Thorns]
A legendary defensive item from the world of Runeterra. Said to be nature's gift to warriors. When struck, it lashes back like thorny vines—inflicting 5% pain on attackers while granting 10% damage reduction to the wearer.
[Last Whisper]
A top-tier offensive weapon. In Runeterra's Western continent, it's believed that as people die, they hear the whispers of death itself. This bow channels that myth—boosting the user's attack power by 20%, and each arrow delivers armor-piercing, true damage that cuts through all defenses.
Alex ran his fingers along the bow's surface. The cold steel buzzed with power. Sharp. Lethal.
Both items were incredible.
If only he had Sunfire Cape to go with them. With Thornmail and Sunfire together, enemies would practically kill themselves attacking him.
In the Marvel universe, the Thornmail even granted an additional 10% damage resistance.
But for now, he hadn't decided who would wield them.
It wasn't like in a game. Here, someone actually had to physically equip the gear. And Last Whisper was a bow.
None of his teammates were proficient with bows.
Well, maybe Hawkeye. But Clint Barton wasn't part of his Hell's Kitchen crew.
Moving on, Alex's eyes landed on the next item:
[Spiritual Time Cabin]
From the Dragon Ball universe. A restricted version of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Only two people can enter at once, and one day inside equals six months of real-world time.
To Alex, this was the second most valuable thing he pulled.
Templates? He could live without them.
But time?
Time was the one resource Alex and his crew lacked more than anything.
The difference between them and the top-tier forces of the Marvel Multiverse wasn't talent—it was time. Those groups had existed for eons.
Now, with this Time Cabin—even limited as it was—he had a tool to close that gap.
Even if only two could enter.
Even if one day only gave six months of training time.
It was still better than nothing.
But the true jackpot?
That was something else entirely.
He turned toward three seemingly unremarkable hairs.
Monkey Hairs.
Yes, that monkey.
Sun Wukong.
[Three Monkey Hairs]
These strands hold the full divine power of the Great Sage Equal to Heaven. Each hair, when used, unleashes the might of the Monkey King himself.
To Alex, these weren't just hairs.
They were lifelines.
Each one represented a guaranteed escape—even from the so-called gods of the Marvel universe.
He clutched the hairs tightly, then muttered to himself, "Just please… don't be the Marvel version."
Because yes, Marvel has its own Sun Wukong.
In that version, he wasn't a mythical warrior forged in divine fire—he was a street thug named Sun Wukong who grew up on tales from the East.
He eventually stumbled upon a real Ruyi Jingu Bang, gained some supernatural strength, and returned to the U.S. calling himself the Monkey King.
A pale imitation.
In Alex's eyes, that wasn't Sun Wukong.
The real one wore golden armor, wielded his staff, and dared to rebel against heaven itself.
A divine warrior. A legend. A chaos god in his own right.
And if these hairs had truly come from that Sun Wukong?
Then Alex had just acquired one of the most broken failsafes in existence.
No doubt.
He tucked the monkey hairs away and turned to the final rewards: the nine templates.
