Chapter 421 - Chapter 421 : Ace undercover Kang applies to fight!

Kang's footsteps were light and quick, like a shadow in the night, silently gliding through the bustling streets until he finally stopped in front of a bar adorned with retro, mysterious decor.

He pushed open the door. A pungent blend of alcohol and tobacco assaulted his senses. The lighting inside was dim. Though the bar was packed, it was strangely quiet. Each patron was immersed in their own world, entirely unaware of the uninvited guest's arrival.

Kang's gaze was cold and indifferent. After a casual glance around, he walked straight toward the back. Each step was calm, unhurried, as if he were intimately familiar with the place.

The lack of attention from the patrons wasn't coincidence—they genuinely couldn't see him.

Passing through layers of noise, Kang reached the private room tucked away in the farthest corner.

The door was half open, allowing in a faint sliver of light that sharply contrasted with the darkness outside.

He gently pushed it wider. A wave of heavy cigar smoke greeted him.

Inside, a burly man with a stern expression reclined leisurely on a sofa, an expensive cigar smoldering in his fingers. Through the haze of smoke, his face was both familiar and haunting.

None other than the infamous Kingpin of New York City—the godfather figure to Alex Ray, the Lord of Hell—Wilson Fisk.

"You're here, Dr. Kang," Fisk said in a low, magnetic voice. He exhaled a thick plume of smoke. There was no hostility in his eyes, no surprise—only calm, as if Kang's arrival had been long anticipated.

This was astonishing, considering Kang had recently betrayed Fisk and even fought him. The entire underworld knew about it.

Yet here they were, like old friends. Fisk showed no intention of retaliation. It was as if the conflict had never happened.

If Reed saw this, he'd probably scream that he'd been played.

Kang wore a faint smile, completely unfazed by Fisk's behavior. He gave a slight nod, then strolled to the minibar. From among the rows of exquisite wine bottles, he plucked one that looked deceptively ordinary and poured it with practiced ease into a crystal highball glass.

His movements were smooth, elegant—less like someone inside a criminal empire and more like a scientist in a private lab.

"You weren't followed, I assume?" Fisk asked, his voice calm but firm.

"Impossible," Kang replied confidently. "No one saw me—not with the Senbonzakura Kageyoshi technique gifted to me by Alex Ray. You, of all people, know its power."

Fisk gave a slow nod. The power of Senbonzakura Kageyoshi was not to be underestimated.

Especially since they'd once used it in a dramatic scene—during a live broadcast that captivated all of New York. Kang had deployed the illusion to manipulate the entire city.

"The plan is going well," Kang said, swirling the wine in his glass as he sat across from Fisk. His tone carried quiet, unwavering confidence.

"That arrogant fool Reed finally fell into my trap. Not only did I get him to join our plan, but I confirmed he has the final Infinity Stone. With that, our operation can proceed flawlessly."

Fisk's lips curled into a thin, amused smile. He gently tapped the armrest of the sofa, as if applauding Kang's performance.

"You're on the right track. Black Bolt of the Illuminati holds the Soul Stone. The remaining Stone, hidden deeper within the Illuminati's vault, appears to be the one Reed possesses. Your plan may just work."

Suddenly, Kang stood, arms outstretched, speaking with fervor.

"Success is inevitable! What I told Reed was only part of the plan—just a ruse to capture the power of the gods."

"But I want more. I want it all—the Reality Stone, the divine power, the fall of the Reed Council and the collapse of the Kang Dynasty!"

"I'll clear every obstacle for Alex Ray, the Lord of Hell!"

"Good! That's what I like to hear!" Fisk chuckled, slapping Kang's shoulder. "Hell's Kitchen needs people like you."

"I'm sorry I had to make you play the role of a traitor. But I couldn't let anyone in Hell's Kitchen know the truth. I even kept it from our own people."

"It's fine. If we want to fool S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Illuminati, we must fool everyone," Kang said, shaking his head. "And yes, I really did take the golden serum. But what they don't know is that we only ever created five doses."

"And if it weren't for Alex Ray and Hell's Kitchen… I'd have died twice already."

Kang's eyes darkened, memories flooding back.

The first time Alex Ray saved him was during the Nuclear invasion of New York. Alex saved the entire city.

The second time was during the Chitauri invasion. Kang nearly died at the hands of Corvus Glaive. It was Alex Ray who saved him again.

His home had been bombed into ruin during the war. The federal government offered no help, turning him away cold. It was Hell's Kitchen that gave him shelter.

After that, Kang swore to repay Alex. He swore loyalty to Hell's Kitchen.

Anyone threatening Alex Ray would be eliminated.

So when he infiltrated the Kang Dynasty and learned of their real intentions, he immediately contacted Fisk and devised a plan.

"I'll contact Alex Ray immediately," Fisk said. "He'll be pleased to hear this."

Kang raised his glass.

"To Hell's Kitchen. To the future."

They clinked glasses, the sound sharp and final.

Neither of them trusted the other completely.

But for now, their goals aligned.

And that was enough.
