Chapter 11 - It's Green

Deep withing the Forest of Tob

As the four-man team, or man and monster team, moves toward the center of the forest, they all felt an increased in Dough's aura, making them feel like they were standing next to a predator. Since Dough had no item or skill to conceal his aura, it was just being release to the surrounding and any creature with the basic instinct of survival can sense the danger he exudes and runs away. Of course, even before, with the four of them together, they did not encounter a single creature on their journey with the monsters sensing how strong they were. The naga, now known as Ryraryus Spenia Ai Indarun when Dough asked, was too afraid to ask what was happening, but not the other two.

"What was that sudden aura release, master," Hamsuke said as she tried to think of the reason why her master, yes, she got turned into a pet for the group, let out his power. Is there a threat nearby? Is he angry with them?

"Don't worry about it, I just had a sudden Epiphany," Dough said as he tries to hide the fact that he just leveled up through his system.

"You're constantly growing stronger visibly each day, it's like you are favored by the world or something," Brain said as he was kind of envious of Dough's random sudden growth, but he would not plot anything against Dough because of that. Through his time spent with Dough, he learned that he was not that powerful and he's also growing stronger visible each day, though not as fast as Dough. He became a lot less arrogant ever since he got out of his well.

The group then stumbled upon a wall of trees, like they were intentionally grown somehow to create a perfect wall of trees that was wider than the group could see with the limited visibility in the forest. Dough then proceeded to punch down a portion of the wall trees, which he found out was easier than he thought, allowing them to enter.

Behind the wall of trees, it just became a wide clearing with barely any trees. All the trees though were weirdly shaped and very big.

As they walked towards the biggest looking tree, looking around to try and find the dragon, they started to hear cracking sounds. The biggest tree in the clearing turned out to not be a tree, but a giant wooden dragon, or tree since its made of trees, or a forest dragon. The dragon was slow, maybe intentional, and rosed to its full height.

"What is a bunch of lower beings breaching into my domain," spoke the Forest Dragon with distain in his voice.

"We ar--" Ryraryus started to speak before he was interupted.

"SILENCE INSECT," the Forest Dragon roared, his patience running thin due to the creature daring to speak in his presence without going on their knees and offering him treasures. He decided to just end all of them.

The dragon swung his giant hand towards the group, expecting to crush all of them, but they moved slightly faster than he thought, dodging his attack. Dough then charges forward, moving so fast the dragon could barely see him. Dough slashes at the dragon's head but his blade instantly shattered. Before he could launch another attack, the dragon started to fly into the air, revealing the treasures he was defending.

"Well, this is a problem," Brain commented as he watches the dragon fly into the air, not being able to do anything about it and he can't fight in the sky.

Dough then learns the Fly spell and then learns the second evolution of it, mass fly, casting it the team to be able to fly to combat the dragon. He doesn't know how long he can keep the fly spell going, so they got to end the fight fast.

The Fly spell have a set speed, so they were not faster than the dragon but were faster than horses. Dough was the first to reach the dragon since he knew that he was going to fly, the other is still getting used to it. He aimed a punch towards the dragon eye but miss, only hitting his head, which dented the scales. The dragon retailiated by swinging his claw down onto Dough, sending him crash down to the ground onto the dragon's pile of treasures.

Brain and Hamsuke, after having adjusted to the spell, started to engage the dragon, which they were barely hanging on. Ryraryus, the naga, was still contemplating if he should get involve. He doesn't know if the group will succeed, they might all die. After all, they are facing off against a dragon. He could just leave during the chaos and hide away in the forest, and they might never find him again.

While Dough was on the pile of treasure, he looks around, trying to find another weapon to replace the sword he had. He found a white blade, though it looked cracked all over, but he felt a calling to it. The moment he grasps the blade into his hand, he felt his stamina drains constantly, but it was neglectable since he is so powerful now, at least for the new world's standard.

Dough flies back into the fight, seeing that both his companions were losing, blood dripping from their bodies. The dragon then prepares a breath attack, but before he could unleash it, he was struck in the side, and it made him bleed. The person who did that was none other than Dough. But his sword instantly shattered after managing to bleed the dragon. He should have known this would happen.

...

Everyone was quiet, but the dragon recovers first and slams his tail into dough and sending him crash down into the ground while he is distracted. He then prepares another breath attack; this time he calculated that Dough would not make it in time.

As Dough sees this, he felt a sense of helplessness as he watches the dragon prepare his breath attack. The sword in his hand slowly trembled and without his knowledge, it started to reassemble itself and slowly shifts into a purple color.

Dough, feeling an itch to stab his 'bladeless' sword forward, did just that. The moment he did, the shattered parts of the blade, over a thousand pieces, flew forward, sending metal shards towards the dragon. The Dragon, having not expected that, got his breath attack interrupted again, having metal shrapnel pierces into his body. Even though the shards were tiny, it still pierced through his body and is revenging the inside of his body. Before long, he was bleeding all over his body and dragon blood was raining was from the sky, dripping Dough in it.

The dragon's blood was hot, making Dough feel warm, and it smells sweet, somewhat like sugar but better. Dough, before registering what he was even doing, licked the blood around his mouth, sending a sweet taste into his mouth.

The dragon slowly falls from the sky, his body having tiny holes all over it pouring blood. He then crashed into the ground, creating a giant cloud of dust.
