Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: The Ability to Convert Avatars

> "This is the 'Vast Knowledge Lord'?"

Staring at the massive mechanical head in front of him, Mu Chen found it hard to believe. On the surface, this martial soul didn't seem like much—more like a piece of abandoned machinery.

Yet this martial soul possessed innate soul power at level 20. In the end, Mu Chen could only conclude that it was a mutated martial soul. Only a mutation could explain such an anomaly.

> "Heita, you must remember this!"

> "Never reveal your innate level 20 soul power to anyone. If anyone asks, just say you ate some rare heavenly treasures as a child, which caused a positive mutation in your martial soul. Otherwise, you might attract the wrong kind of attention."

Mu Chen's expression was extremely serious. Given his high status, he had seen countless political struggles over the years—and even participated in some himself.

That's why he fully understood the level of envy and malice geniuses could attract. Some people would go to extreme lengths out of jealousy.

If the major powers learned of Heita's situation, things would become far more complicated. Even though Mu Chen was a Saint Craftsman, he still fell short compared to those at the demigod level.

> "Got it." Heita now understood that if she wanted to avoid getting dragged into those power struggles, she had to hide her true strength—at least for now.

Once the time was right, she would amaze the world in one grand move!

Mu Chen nodded. But as his gaze fell once again on the Vast Knowledge Lord, he immediately noticed—it had no soul rings.

> "In a couple of days, I'll have some free time. I'll take you to the Spirit Transmission Tower to buy two soul spirits! After all, you're my daughter, so you can't settle for cheap stuff."

> "Then… thank you, Uncle?"

> "I'd be happier if you called me 'Dad,' just like Xiaoxi does."

> "Aren't you getting a little too ahead of yourself, Uncle?"

Seeing Heita's current demeanor, Mu Chen knew right away—his wife's approach worked best. She had easily tamed this stubborn girl!

Heita scoffed in response to Mu Chen's expression with a disdainful "hmph!"

Though her attitude wasn't exactly warm, at least their relationship had taken a step forward—a small victory.

But that alone wasn't enough.

> "System, how can I increase the number of avatars I can create—and boost the power they can use?"

Inside Heita's body, Yao Lan was conversing with his system. He was still at a beginner level when it came to using his powers, and to grow stronger, he needed more power.

> [System]: "Host, the system is currently adjusting the release of power based on the strength of this world. Right now, it is not possible to increase the number of avatars. However, the host can inject the power of the Star Gods into others to transform them into avatars."

> "Turn others into avatars? That's actually possible?"

> [System]: "Yes, but note that not everyone can be used as an avatar. To turn someone into an avatar, you must use Star God power—but that power is far too strong for most beings in this world."

> "Only beings that have touched the divine realm can barely withstand the power of a Star God and become your avatar. Also, during the transformation, they must not resist."

> "Then what's the point of this ability?"

Yao Lan was speechless. What the system said was basically no different from saying nothing.

Only divine-level beings could become avatars, and they couldn't resist—so basically, they had to agree voluntarily? How was that even possible?

Anyone who had touched the divine realm was either a Level 99 Limit Douluo or a Battle Armor Master. Turning one of them into an avatar without resistance? That bordered on impossible.

> "My power is incomplete right now. Even though I've received the power of a Star God, my level is still just 25—same as Heita. How could I possibly beat a Titled Douluo, let alone someone at divine level? That's just—"

> "Wait a minute!"

His annoyed tone suddenly paused as Yao Lan seemed to think of something.

> "System, let me ask you this: If someone used to be divine-level, but their power dropped due to some reason, and they were injured or incomplete—"

> "Can that kind of person still become my avatar?"

In Yao Lan's mind, a certain silver-white figure appeared. Based on everything the system just said, only she fit all the criteria during the early stages of Legend of the Dragon King. If this was possible, he'd gain a trump card like no other.

> [System]: "Yes, they can."

The system's voice remained flat and emotionless, but upon hearing it, Yao Lan was ecstatic. That meant he now had a concrete target!

> "What about the Star God powers?"

Though the avatar transformation ability was interesting, the Star God power itself was the foundation. Yao Lan had to acquire more of it.

> [System]: "Currently, the host can use three types of Star God power: 'Pursuit' and 'Abundance' on your main body, and 'Vast Knowledge' on Heita's avatar."

> "Vast Knowledge has already become Heita's martial soul and cannot be changed. But 'Pursuit' and 'Abundance' on the main body can be swapped out. The host is allowed to use three Star God powers, but the system never said which specific three."

> "As long as they haven't become an avatar's martial soul, Star God powers on the main body can be replaced."

> "Tch—Why didn't you say something so important earlier?!"

Now that he knew Star God powers were interchangeable, Yao Lan had a lot more room to maneuver.

Because of the life-saving nature of Abundance, he would definitely keep that one. The only reason he had kept Pursuit was its combat power—for counterattacks during close calls.

But now that several days had passed, Yao Lan hadn't encountered a single fight. Soul beasts were nearly extinct in this timeline, and now that he was Mu Chen's adopted daughter, life-or-death battles were even less likely.

> "So, at that time, I'll just swap out 'Pursuit' for 'Immortality' and use it to create an avatar!"

Immortal Star God: Dragon.

One of the oldest Star Gods, said to be the ancestor of all dragonkind.

In every world, dragons were powerful beings—and the Douluo World was no exception. In fact, this era was called "Legend of the Dragon King," which showed just how special dragons were.

And the Immortal Star God—Dragon was an existence even more superior. A conceptual-level dragon deity. If Yao Lan injected this power into a dragon descendant, it would surely create an unimaginably powerful avatar!

> "Heh heh… hahaha!"

Just thinking about it made Yao Lan giddy. Even the Heita avatar outside couldn't help but laugh out loud—though the laugh didn't last long.

> "System, I just accidentally switched to the Joyful Star God's power just now, right?"

> [System]: "No, host. You simply lost control and went crazy for a moment."

> "Why don't you understand how to deal with people, system?"

> [System]: "First, the system is not a person, so it does not need to learn interpersonal skills. Second, the system does not lie. You simply went crazy a moment ago."

> "You're really something…"

High EQ: You're really honest.

Low EQ: Your intelligence is lacking.
