Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Aunt Green (Extra Chapter)

"Huff, huff!"

Rapid breathing came from inside the room. A man hurriedly carried a basin of water and rushed inside, while a woman standing beside him wore a face full of worry.

"What's wrong with Wulin? Why has he become like this?"

These two were Tang Wulin's foster parents, Tang Ziran and Lang Yue. They were both helpless and anxious about their son's current condition.

"He's only been in school for a few days and suddenly fell seriously ill. Could it be that Wulin came into contact with something impure?"

Although Tang Ziran and Lang Yue were ordinary people and not Soul Masters, they had special backgrounds. Tang Ziran was a former mecha designer and pharmaceutical researcher for the Federation, while Lang Yue was a pharmacist.

For some special reasons, they had to live quietly in a small city to avoid the revenge of enemies and to protect their family's safety.

And now, Wulin was in trouble!

This made Tang Ziran and Lang Yue quickly recall past troubles—could someone have taken advantage of their distraction to harm their son?

"I have no choice but to ask you to take care of Wulin for now. I'm going out to buy some medicine!"

No matter what this illness was, Tang Ziran had to do something. Relying on cold compresses with towels was obviously not enough. Wulin needed special medicine.

"Go quickly and come back soon. I'll stay here to look after Wulin!"

After Tang Ziran left, Lang Yue immediately sat beside her son. She gently touched Wulin's forehead, quietly murmuring, "Please, nothing bad should happen…"

But before she could finish speaking, Lang Yue suddenly stood up straight and stepped back several paces, clearly startled.

"Wulin? What's happening to you…?"

At that moment, an unknown green light filled the entire room.

Where am I...?

His consciousness gradually cleared. Tang Wulin, still half-unconscious, slowly opened his eyes. When he saw the world bathed in a sea of green, his expression tightened with unease.

"I remember I suddenly fell ill and was resting at home. Why am I… in a forest?"

Looking around at the emerald-green woods, Tang Wulin's face was filled with confusion.

But soon, the changes around him caught his attention.

The surrounding trees parted their branches as if inviting him forward—like a living being making a gesture of welcome—and a clear path formed. At the path's end stood an unimaginably tall ancient tree.

"Are you inviting me to go there?"

Since there was no other way forward, Wulin accepted the invitation and walked toward the towering tree in the distance.

Minute by minute passed. Tang Wulin soon arrived beneath the massive tree and discovered a wooden door at its base. This was obviously someone's dwelling.

"So, who exactly lives here?"

On the way, Tang Wulin had seen all sorts of trees and flowers he had never encountered on Douluo Continent. As a boy just barely six years old, he was full of curiosity about everything around him.

"Since it's such a beautiful place, it must belong to a beautiful older sister, right?"

At the thought, Wulin remembered the golden-haired elder sister from a few days ago… or rather, brother. He ended with an awkward smile.

For a young boy with budding feelings, this was quite a blow!

But just as Tang Wulin reached out to open the door, the wooden door suddenly opened on its own—or rather, was opened from the inside.

"I've been waiting for you a long time. Come in quickly, Wulin!"

The moment he saw the figure, Tang Wulin's eyes instantly widened.

What a beautiful sister!

Though he found it a little strange to think this way, deep down, Wulin felt this sister was just as beautiful as the golden-haired brother he had seen before.

Her long brown hair had a streak of green, and she radiated an indescribable life energy—a feeling so warm and comforting…

Just like Mom!

"Who are you?"

"Hmm… just call me Aunt Green! After all, the blessing you have is from me!"

The woman who called herself Aunt Green smiled gently and led Tang Wulin into the hollow tree. The surroundings were very peaceful, without any advanced tech devices. It was clear Aunt Green preferred a more natural lifestyle.

"So, Aunt Green, why did you come for me?" Tang Wulin understood his current situation—he had clearly been brought here by Aunt Green, so she must have something important to say.

"Indeed, there is something very important. So I'll keep it simple."

In the following time, Tang Wulin gradually understood, based on Aunt Green's words, some things that had happened before.

There seemed to be a terrifying evil power inside his body, constantly harming him. But because of a seal, this evil power was temporarily restrained.

Aunt Green had once given him a blessing, and because of that blessing, a fragment of her consciousness remained inside his body—both resisting the evil force and enhancing his vitality.

However, due to an accident, the evil power inside him disappeared completely. At this moment, Aunt Green's life force dominated.

The blessing, which was supposed to be exhausted by fighting the evil, had not completely disappeared. So at the very end, Aunt Green was able to use the last of her power to give Tang Wulin a push forward!

"Wulin, your origins are special. I can't say much now. You'll understand everything when you grow up."

"But for now, I can help you… to completely evolve your Spirit Martial Soul."

At these words, Tang Wulin's eyes immediately shone with brilliance. Excited, he looked at Aunt Green and asked, "Aunt Green, can you really help my Spirit Martial Soul evolve? So it won't be an ordinary Blue Silver Grass anymore?"

"You're really eager," Aunt Green smiled softly. "How could I lie to you, little Wulin?"

"Besides, your Spirit Martial Soul isn't just ordinary Blue Silver Grass—it just hasn't been able to show its full strength yet."

"When my power flows into it, it will not only change, it will gain new powers! What kind of powers? You'll have to discover that yourself!"

After Aunt Green smiled gently, everything around seemed to pause. Tang Wulin had intended to thank Aunt Green properly, but his own body froze—he couldn't move—and the scenery of the tree hollow slowly blurred until…

Tang Wulin opened his eyes.

Was that just… a dream? No, that's not right!

Covered in sweat, Tang Wulin suddenly sat up in bed. The fever he had was completely gone in an instant.

Almost immediately, Tang Wulin summoned his Spirit Martial Soul, Blue Silver Grass. He had thought what just happened was an illusion, but when he saw faint green light shimmering over the Blue Silver Grass, along with the power it now contained, Tang Wulin knew everything that had happened was real!

Aunt Green really did what she said—she helped his Spirit Martial Soul evolve!

"Thank you, Aunt Green!"

Tang Wulin knew he was no longer the ignored nobody at the academy. He now had the potential to achieve his dreams!
