Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: The Oolong Incident

Chapter 26: The Oolong Incident

This was more like pouring two different liquids together. The emotionless Migi absorbed Shinichi Izumi's emotions, and similarly, Shinichi Izumi was influenced by Migi, no longer able to sense his own emotional changes.

"Quite high," Xia Shang calmly raised his right arm. As his right arm continuously twisted and transformed, it eventually formed a four-meter-long blood-colored hook. He hooked it onto the other end of the embankment. After ensuring the hook wouldn't easily detach, he leaped several times and reached the top of the embankment. The entire process took only a few seconds.

"Phew... that's outrageous, not even waiting for me." Xia Shang's right arm reverted to its original form like a spring.

There were steps on top of the anti-flood embankment, likely built for viewing the sea. At this moment, Izumi's figure had already appeared at the far right end of the embankment. Guided by Migi, Izumi finally saw the Parasyte that had appeared nearby. It was sitting at the very bottom of the steps at the end.

"Don't move!"

The man was chubby, and upon hearing Izumi's warning, he raised his head and looked at Izumi.

"No, it's not it." Izumi leaped and landed in front of the man, a hint of disappointment in his eyes.

Suddenly seeing Izumi jump down from above, the man was completely stunned. He looked a bit dumbfounded, perhaps shocked by Izumi's jumping ability.

"Even if it's not it, it's probably not a good thing. We might as well deal with it now," Izumi said. Migi instantly transformed into a blade.

Seeing this, the man was frightened and raised his hands, hastily saying, "Wait a moment, don't do anything, let me explain."

However, just as Izumi was puzzled why Migi wasn't attacking, Migi spoke, "No, he still retains a human brain."

"What?" Izumi said in disbelief.

While he was still in shock, the other party's chin suddenly grew larger, and another voice came out, "This is truly strange. You're actually parasitic on a human's hand."

Izumi was startled by this scene.

"Isn't it stranger that you're parasitic on a human's chin?" Xia Shang appeared behind him.

"Human!" The man's chin transformed into a blade, pointing at Xia Shang. However, this scene looked a bit comical because the blade didn't seem to be aimed at Xia Shang, but rather at its own neck.

"Don't do anything, his situation is also special."

Izumi quickly stood between the two.

"Are you a Parasyte? Then why can't I sense your existence?" The Parasyte parasitic on the man's chin asked with a curious tone.

Based on Xia Shang's judgment, the other party likely only occupied the area from the chin to the chest. Its combat strength should be inferior to a normal Parasyte.

Xia Shang used fingers transformed into blades to run through his hair, casually combing it a few times. His current hairstyle was somewhat similar to a slicked-back style, resembling Izumi's, but not exactly the same. "I don't know, perhaps my situation is more special than yours."

"So, that means we're companions."

The Parasyte's chin grinned widely, laughing. The form it transformed into had three small eyes. Perhaps because of the large mouth, it looked rather endearing and simple.

Afterward, Mamoru Uda, the chubby man, explained how he was parasitized by the Parasyte.

Frankly, it wasn't complicated.

Due to his wife leaving, he came to the Seaside wanting to commit suicide. But in the end, he found that he didn't even have the courage to die. Just as dusk was approaching, the brilliant red sunset glow deeply moved him. Just when he no longer wanted to commit suicide, a Parasyte drilled out and jumped in front of him.

Mamoru Uda thought it was a snake and was greatly frightened. Then, in the process of dodging, he and the Parasyte fell into the sea together. Since Mamoru Uda couldn't swim, he quickly entered a state of apparent death, which prevented the Parasyte from having enough time to parasitize and assimilate Mamoru Uda's brain. At this moment, the Parasyte was faced with only two choices: either die with Mamoru Uda or parasitize his neck to help him regain breathing.

Clearly, the Parasyte chose the latter.

"I see, that's interesting," Migi commented.

Just as Mamoru Uda was about to speak, the Parasyte on his chin turned its eyeballs to look at him. "If I give you the chin, then I won't be able to speak properly."

However, Mamoru Uda didn't pay attention to it. He said with a smile, "You really scared me just now. This guy suddenly said a companion was coming, and I thought a monster was going to appear. Seeing you two, I feel relieved. I never expected someone to have the same experience as me, and two companions at that."

Xia Shang could tell that both Mamoru Uda and the Parasyte on his chin had quite good personalities.

It seemed that a Parasyte's personality would be influenced by its host.

However, some Parasytes were deeply influenced, while others were only slightly. Like most Parasytes, they could only act on instinct. Among the Parasytes he had seen so far, only Reiko Tamura, Migi, and the guy on the chin in front of him could be considered truly intelligent creatures. The rest of the Parasytes could only clumsily imitate humans.

"Oh right, why don't you tell us the story of your right hand?"

"Then let's talk somewhere else." Izumi then raised his right hand and introduced, "My name is Shinichi Izumi, and this is Migi. The one with me is Xia Shang. He doesn't seem to have a separate Parasyte on him."

"Actually, I can."

Xia Shang smiled, and a creature very similar to Migi appeared on his left hand. The only difference was that it had no eyeballs, because he couldn't transform that part. The eyeballs on Migi and the others should be part of their main body.

"Her name is Minnie. She's Migi's girlfriend."

Hearing Xia Shang's prank, Izumi couldn't help but retort, "I think Disney's legal team is already starting to collect information on you."

"If not Minnie, how about Mario? It sounds very energetic."

Xia Shang added a hat to it.

"Not bad, if Nintendo doesn't mind," the Parasyte on Mamoru Uda's chin said.

"Shut up, let me speak." After Mamoru Uda gained control, he began to introduce himself and the Parasyte on him. "My name is Mamoru Uda, and I named this Parasyte on me Parasyte, which means parasitic organism."

Next, the three of them found a place to chat idly.

Izumi also explained why his attitude was bad when he first met Mamoru Uda.

"So that's how it is. That Parasyte was too awful. It's a good thing you arrived in time, otherwise, it would have been bad."

"However, are you sure you can wait for it here?" Mamoru Uda asked curiously.

Izumi shook his head, his gaze firm. "I don't know. I can't even confirm if it's dead. However, as long as there's the slightest danger to my family, I must stay alert. If it's still alive, it will definitely come looking for my mother within a short time. Believe me, Parasytes are a group of creatures with extremely strong vengefulness."
