255. Chapter 255: Famous Scene! Getsuga Tensho!

"Thank you, Mr. Jervis. Would you like to be our special guest for this episode?" Courtenay subtly winked at Xia Shang.

She knew very well that his words were just politeness; how could such a big shot possibly be her fan?

However, she was quite willing to have some kind of relationship with the important figure before her.

"No, I wouldn't want to steal Homelander's thunder," Xia Shang smiled, politely declining.

He wasn't interested in women like Courtenay. To put it bluntly, who knew how many people she'd slept with? Probably at least a whole company's worth.

"Is that so? That's a real shame. Your appearance would definitely boost our show's ratings," Courtenay wasn't annoyed by the rejection, still speaking with a smile.

"Maybe next time. We can cooperate again if there's an opportunity," Xia Shang looked around, casually found a chair, and sat down.

"Looks like you're all set up. Let's start the interview."

Xia Shang lowered his head to glance at the watch on his wrist. Unconsciously, the time had reached seven in the evening. It would probably be dark by the time the interview finished.

"OK, all departments prepare."

Courtenay turned and instructed the surrounding Staff to get ready for filming.

*Snap!* As the fill lights on both sides lit up, the Staff responsible for the camera quickly aimed the lens at the two people On Stage on the round platform.

"It's a great honor to have Homelander on our show..."

After the opening remarks, they entered the much-anticipated Q&A session.

Courtenay, sitting opposite Homelander, elegantly crossed her right leg over her left and asked first, "Homelander, you've been a hot topic of discussion lately. Many people reportedly see you as a cold-blooded executioner who kills without batting an eye. They can't understand why you would brutally kill your colleague. What do you have to say about this?"

Facing the interview, Homelander smiled, "In fact, time will provide the answer. I believe many people have been influenced by the public opinion online, causing them to lose the judgment they should have."

Courtenay nodded in deep agreement.

"That's right. The moment I saw the news, my first reaction was 'impossible.' How could Homelander possibly kill Stormfront? The absurdity of this matter is no less than Jesus killing his beloved followers.

But when I opened my mobile phone, the overwhelming insults almost blinded my eyes. Thankfully, my intuition told me that things couldn't be that simple. Facts prove my intuition was correct; there was indeed a reason why you killed Stormfront. I think they owe you an apology."

In fact, before the photo came out, Courtenay had thought Homelander was high on something and impulsively killed Stormfront.

Of course, she wouldn't be foolish enough to say the truth out loud.

"Homelander, what do you think of this cyberbullying behavior? Have you been affected by it?" Courtenay continued to ask.

Homelander spread his hands, looking somewhat helpless.

"If I said I wasn't affected at all, it would clearly be unrealistic. In fact, those remarks pierced my heart like a blade. Although the surface of my body is invulnerable to knives and guns, my insides are as soft and fragile as an ordinary human's. If possible, I still want to appeal to everyone to prohibit cyberbullying, because you never know if a casual sentence you say or a line of text you type could cause immense injury to others."

"Well said! Truly worthy of being our United States hero. I even think that sentence you just said could be used as a slogan for publicity." Courtenay made no attempt to hide her flattery.

During the interview recording, Xia Shang's mind/consciousness was immersed within his body, silently observing the replacement progress.

"Right, could you tell us in detail what happened at the time?" Courtenay inquired.

"Of course."

The smile on Homelander's face was a little stiff.

"I think I'll never forget that day," he said, making a show of recalling. "I went to confront her with the photo, but she wouldn't admit the photo's authenticity, even claiming it was Photoshopped. But Vought's Technical Analysis Department told me there were no traces of the photo being synthesized. That is to say, the authenticity of the photo is beyond doubt. I never expected a Nazi Remnant to appear right under my nose."

"I must say, I feel remorse for my dereliction of duty."

If he didn't know the whole story, Xia Shang might actually believe Homelander killed Stormfront, as this guy's acting skill was indeed commendable.

"Alas, who would have thought Stormfront would be a Nazi Remnant? So you don't need to feel too much remorse about this; it's not your fault. You can only blame Stormfront for being too good at impersonation," Courtenay sighed and shook her head.

"No, I should have noticed earlier. During her livestream, she often posted some racial discrimination remarks, but I didn't pay attention. Looking back now, it was my oversight."

The remorse on Homelander's face was moving.

Undoubtedly, if this episode were released, it would definitely win him a large number of fans.

Homelander picked up the glass in front of him and took a sip of water. "I originally wanted to talk to Stormfront properly, make her realize her mistake, and have her voluntarily withdraw from The Seven. But what I didn't expect was that she actually threatened me. She said if I didn't help her conceal this matter, she would bathe all of New York in blood. She was very smart; she knew my weakness. However, I am Homelander after all. I cannot cover for someone who attempts to provoke war and promote racial discrimination!

So, I decisively refused her. At the same time, to prevent others from being harmed, I originally intended to control her."

"God, was she crazy?" When she heard Stormfront was preparing to bathe all of New York in blood, Courtenay looked shocked and said in disbelief.

"But it was as if she saw through my idea. After attacking me, she fled the Restaurant. To prevent her words from becoming reality, I quickly chased after her. It's just that I shouldn't have killed her; she should have been brought before the government for trial."

After listening to Homelander's words.

Courtenay couldn't help but exclaim, "You did the right thing. If she had survived, I'm afraid all of New York and even the United States would have faced the apocalypse. You are a true hero!"

...

After the interview recording, Homelander came to the Meeting Room alone.

He stood in front of Stormfront's statue, his expression unusually complex, mixed with a hint of sadness and anger.

He really wanted to find someone to seek comfort from, but when he suddenly looked back, there was no one beside him.

"It was the Mysterious Person who impersonated me and killed you. Perhaps I should be angry, but right now I feel a sense of relief, lucky that Mr. Jervis produced the photo, which prevented me from falling off the altar/pedestal and being cursed by thousands. In fact, because of those few photos, I was once again praised as a god, but the price was losing a truly beautiful, perfect god."

Homelander desperately suppressed the pain in his heart.

In the blink of an eye.

He took the statue to the Vought Tower rooftop.

Under the bright moonlight, a figure continuously moved up and down. After a few seconds, Homelander stopped. He angrily grabbed the statue by the neck and roared, "I'm gonna fucking kill you, Mysterious Person!"

*Bang!* The statue's head was actually twisted off by him! Homelander's eyes glowed crimson red, and he walked towards the edge of the rooftop, carrying the statue's head.

Then, with a roar of rage, a powerful stream of Heat Vision shot out along with two beams of crimson red light! As if to vent all his anger onto the moon!
