After eating a little something, Raymond asked Ren to take him to see the men who had been temporarily locked up—especially the ones who had been killed.
To keep things quiet, Ren hadn't called the police but had pressed the matter down internally.
Those who had killed or injured were all kept in one place—"Boss, don't waste your time. A life for a life, it should be settled like that…" One of the locked-up men sighed when he saw Ren coming.
His spirit looked broken. He gave off a lifeless air, as if he had lost the will to live.
"Bullshit!"
Ren roared in anger. "You think dying is easy? I could shoot you right now, but until I find out the truth, don't you dare make trouble, understand?"
At his outburst, the few prisoners instantly went silent.
Compared to when he faced Raymond alone, this was when Ren really looked like a gangster boss. Normally, he seemed more like a rich businessman, nothing like someone tied to the underworld.
"Doctor, sorry you had to see that. Please…" After yelling at the men, Ren turned to Raymond with an apologetic look.
Raymond waved it off and looked at the prisoners. "These are the ones with problems?"
"Yes… You may check them however you want. They'll cooperate." Ren glanced at the locked-up men, warning them to behave.
"Good."
Raymond nodded. "Open the door."
"Uh… maybe we should let them out one by one, in case they lose control?" Ren hesitated.
From his reaction, Raymond guessed something like that had already happened before.
But to Raymond, these were just normal people. Even if they went mad, they couldn't cause much trouble in front of him. Nothing worth worrying about.
He shook his head. "No need. Just open it."
"Alright."
Seeing Raymond so sure, Ren stopped talking and gave a signal to his men.
One of them stepped forward and unlocked the door.
Once they entered, the locked-up men also seemed to notice from Ren's attitude that Raymond wasn't ordinary. They forced a bitter smile and reminded him:
"Honored guest, please keep some distance from us, in case something happens."
"It's fine," Raymond said calmly, then turned to Ren. "Bring me a stool."
"A stool? Okay." Ren didn't ask why. He simply waved at a man.
Right away, someone brought over a stool. Raymond sat down and looked again at the prisoners.
At that moment, he switched to Professor X's sub-personality—Privacy Violator, activate!
"Ahhh!!"
Almost at the same time, the prisoners clutched their heads and screamed in pain.
Ren stared in shock, not understanding why they had suddenly become like this.
But he quickly realized it must have something to do with Raymond. There was no other reason for it to happen so suddenly.
Yet seeing Raymond stay calm, silently watching the men, Ren didn't dare interrupt.
"As expected, something's wrong…" Professor X's sub-personality was speaking with Raymond inside his mind.
"What's going on? Were they influenced by psychic powers before?" Raymond asked.
"No. This isn't something psychic powers can do," Professor X's sub-personality denied. "Mind powers can control people or alter memories, but they can't keep affecting someone like this…"
"But when I entered their minds, I felt a strange, evil energy. That's what's been affecting them."
"An evil energy… Can you bring it out?" Raymond asked.
"Yes, but once it's pulled out, it will probably vanish quickly. If you want to study it further, you need to prepare in advance," the sub-personality advised.
"Alright, give me a moment."
Raymond understood, and remotely called back the Exorcist sub-personality.
After briefly explaining the situation, he switched back, then in front of everyone created a shadow clone and transferred the Exorcist sub-personality into it.
Ren was startled to see another person suddenly appear in the room.
When he realized it looked exactly like Raymond, he calmed down a little, but was still shocked. This was the first time he had ever seen something like a clone.
Raymond ignored his reaction, switched back to Professor X's sub-personality, and signaled that they could begin.
Soon, faint red mist began to leak out from the prisoners' bodies, as if it could scatter at any moment.
The Exorcist sub-personality didn't hesitate. Forming hand seals, he gathered the red mist together.
Just like when he sealed Dormammu's aura before, he trapped this red mist inside a transparent crystal orb, then handed it to Raymond after switching back.
The clone vanished right after, returning to Raymond.
"What is that?" Ren asked, already guessing the answer as he stared at the red mist inside the crystal.
"Yes, this is what made them suddenly violent and unable to control themselves," Raymond confirmed.
"What exactly is it?" Ren asked warily.
