"Oh," Arlette said, then fell silent.
"How long did you use it for?" Caius asked her.
Arlette's eyes rolled up to look into his face as she smiled,
"I didn't really stop," she said, "I was at it until I heard your knock."
"That's… quite the dedication," Caius said mirroring her smile.
"Well, what's worth doing is worth doing well, right?" Arlette asked as Caius stepped closer to her, reducing the space they had created between their bodies during the box exchange.
"Right," Caius said, and he sent the dial in his hand into his storage ring, slipping the ring filled with Allegra's legacy onto his finger so it sat just above his storage ring. As he raised his hand, he lightly touched Arlette's cheek.
"How do you feel?" He asked her.
"Normal," Arlette said, "Well, actually, better than normal. I feel… full."
