I should've stayed frozen. I should've kept my distance.

I wanted to dig a hole right there and bury myself alive.
"Why are you screaming like you didn't enjoy it?"
His voice snapped through the silence, dripping with disgust and something else—mockery.
I blinked.
I wasn't sure I heard him right until he spoke again.
